New Movie Trailers - Star Trek Beyond & Independence Day: Resurgence

Recommended Posts

New trailers have arrived for big block buster movies coming in 2016. Star Trek Beyond and Independence Day: Resurgence. Timely trailer releases with the new Star Wars coming out in a couple of days.

I'm crying inside. From sorrow.

The ST Beyond trailer makes me think we're not even looking at a Star Trek film at all. Not just when comparing it to older Trek, but also the previous two Abrams' films. Guess the odd-numbered-film curse is back.

And the Independence Day sequel... is just something we didn't need in the first place.

Speak for yourself, I did need the ID sequel.

Had a large craving for it, oh yeah.

Agreed. It just didn't look like a Star Trek movie at all. But I'm prepared to give this one a chance since I liked the first two Abrams Trek movies. Although he's not directing this one.

The first Independence Day is one of my favourite movies so I'm keen to see the next one. 20 years between them though, and the lack of Will Smith could be a bad thing. Stargate fans should take note of this new Independence Day movie, because the Dean Devlin/Roland Emmerich duo are the ones bringing Stargate back to the big screen.

They intend to bring it back to the original Stargate film, which in my opinion, was far inferior to the following TV shows (except Universe, which was awful). I do not have high expectations for any new Stargate movies made by them.

On one hand. At least Stargate has a future. However the new trilogy of Stargate movies will reboot the franchise and piss away 10 years of SG-1 and 5 years of SGA. As a Stargate fan, that doesn't sit to we'll with me.

Abrams isn't the director?! Woe is Star Trek... I dread of the announced new TV series even more now.

I am going to agree with Plokite on the ID sequel, it just doesn't really need one. The sequel of Independence Day took some pages out of a mix of Star Wars, Star Trek, C&C, Starcraft and all recent Call of Duty games. Besides even the new Star Wars series should have mentioned an alien invasion instead of the same old idea, having a new sith lord re-gather stormtroopers and wreak havoc and terror across the galaxy.

It's great to see the aliens coming back, and it might inspire EA to reboot a C&C game (maybe C&C5?), but who knows?

As for Stargate, I have zero interest for a new rebooted movie since the former TV series was utterly boring. One movie was enough.

Good Job placing the ID day next to the ST trailer....that basicly safed the ID trailer :P

Am i the only one suprised that ID isnt directed by Micheal Bay? Military porn: Check, Explosions: Check, Cast: poeple who owe Micheal bay favors or who Bay want to sleep with: mostlikely checked, Shots of the the american flag: not checked(only the girl's sweater in the bus)...almost a Micheal Bay movie.

That's a bit of a leap...

It doesn't matter how boring you think the TV series was, since it will be diregarded by the new movies.

Hmm, I should read up about Stargate Movies. Don't know anything about them...

I now I am the only one here who likes the slower pace of SG:Universe compared to the stupidity of the Ori story execution in the latter seasons of SG1.

But I still do!
