Throwback Thursday for 27th October

Recommended Posts

TEpmnHK.jpg

In this week's edition of Throwback Thursday, we look back at the strongest Allied naval unit... actually, the strongest naval unit in terms of firepower from the original Red Alert - the Cruiser. The cannons of this potent ship could decimate any unit or building with little effort, making it a viable artillery choice. The Soviets did not even have an equivalent for this unit until the Aftermath expansion pack, where they got the Missile Sub. However, the Cruiser was very slow and imprecise, and required a lot of micromanagement to properly aim at its target.

Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We also encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

Never liked the missile sub, it was too similar in role and gameplay to the allies. I hate mirrors.

For contrast, what I liked about RA2 was things like Kirovs v Rocketeers... Prism v Apoc etc.
