Hi and here is a strange problem installing ra

Hi to everybody.I try to install ra1 in winxp and there is UNUSUAL problem.The autoloader works well and I apply the compatibility tab as always did.However I get this message

 

c:windows/system32/autoexec.nt the file sistem is not appropiate to execute MS-DOS or Windows.

 

whats wrong with my pc?

Easy, your trying to play a game designed for win95 on XP. Basically, old game+XP=no work. There is nothing wrong with your computer. I'll let someone who is better with giving instructions tell you how to get around it, but there is the basic answer to your question. I hate XP.

well in the past in installed RA1 in another XP comp just but adjusting the compatibility tab and worked well then

But of course this cant help this strange and uncomon problem

yep it was a win xp. Im triying to install it in another PC with xp as well but there seems to be a difference

Re-install, get the latest patch, fiddle with compatibility. If that doesn't work I'm stumped.

well the problem is that I cant reinstall because I cant install in the first time.

I installed the game in another pc long ago, that also had XP.

Now i try to install it in another PC for the first time and i get that message.

Hi since this site gave me the patch for C&C gold to get it working in xp I thought I would be nice and give you this

The program above is a installer program created by someone forgot there name (SORRY but who ever you are you rule!), the installer will fix your game so download installer, self extract it (just run the file) then run the setup program it will install the game and then you run it just as if it was on a win98 comp , ohyea it also has options to install 2 of the patches which I recommend since I think you lose the chance of multiplayer if you dont.

ohyea I got that same error when trying to install c&c gold yesterday, so to stop you ever getting that error agian, go to you C:windowsrepair and copy the autoexec.nt and paste it in the c:windowssystem32 folder

 

That will solve the problem

 

Ohyea sonic, with that error the installer dosent attualy run so that fix would of been no use with out the fix above.

Well the point is you got it working, I was just informing everyone of the other option for future people who come here looking to solve the same problem.

yet a new problem arised now, because now i want to install aftermath :S

even if i copy paste all the required files and the installation procceeds

the ra95 file will not be updated. It will also ask for the aftermath cd when executed, even though is inside.Maybe a no cd crack will do the trick.Anyone knows a crack?
