Plok 319 Posted October 15, 2017 In the past few years, I've been involved in the local board gaming scene and helped run a few conventions. Thus, I've had the opportunity to play numerous board/card games in relatively short periods of time, and through that meet some nice people with whom I wouldn't have had any contacts with. Many of these games are simply amazing, from the introductory Settlers of Catan, through the ever-engaging Avalon and the intriguing Scythe, to the arena shooter(!?) Adrenaline. There is literally no niche in board games that hasn't been covered, so there's something for everyone, and more and more are being developed from big companies and small teams alike. What games do you play, what are your experiences? Let's start a thread. Share this post Link to post

PurpleGaga27 37 Posted October 16, 2017 I used to have board games when I was a kid, but I don't enjoy original board games anymore because of digital board games from PCs. I also used to play the YugiOh Trading Card Game on a board, but now I play YGOPRO digitally on an entire basis. The only other digital card game I play right now is the Plants vs Zombies Heroes on Android. Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted October 28, 2017 Nice spread. That Star Trek game's subtitle is too low-res to read, which one is it? Share this post Link to post
Lauren 77 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Five Year Mission - LOTS of fun, cannot recommend it enough. There's also Star Trek Catan hidden behind some deck boxes. Edited October 29, 2017 by Lauren Share this post Link to post
OWA 22 Posted November 7, 2017 Catan and Scythe are my jam. I also like games like Evolution (a game about creating creatures and getting food) and Kolejka (a game about queuing). The Battlestar Galactica board game is also fantastic. Trying to find out who the Cylons are and then attempting to stop them is brilliant and nail bitingly fun! xD Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted February 21, 2018 Played Ticket To Ride: Europe. Apart from having an obnoxiously inaccurate city placement, it's quite fun. Also, Cottage Garden isn't as lame as it sounds. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted February 21, 2018 7 wonders is basically AoE in a board/card game variant. It's pretty amazing. Share this post Link to post
Sombrero123 0 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) I love playing Catan with my family! Wish there would be a C&C board game... EDIT: Shit, there's one. Edited March 17, 2020 by Sombrero123 Share this post Link to post
