So this is what Valve's been working on after all this time

Recommended Posts

And it's a card game........ :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Come on, Valve. Four plus years to make a digital card game only to make it a competitive e-sport and it's still Dota? Get ready for more negative reception from the Valve fans (since they are bitter angry for not having Valve making another new game). A counter to Hearthstone does not mean Artifact will turn out to be as great as Hearthstone.

Maybe Valve could have created a game that includes their franchise characters into the list from Half-Life, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, Portal, Alien Swarm and Counterstrike...... similar to how Blizzard did with Heroes of the Storm, and not just a card game based on Dota.

There are several different new card games this year and neither of them will beat out YugiOh, Pokemon and Magic the Gathering in the future ahead.

Do you read anything that doesn't begin with "pc" (as in pcgamer etc)?

Well I am more of a PC gaming fan. Kotaku covers all consoles and so do Gamespot, IGN, Polygon and Gamewatcher (just to name a few). Since PC Gamer is originally from the UK, it's the only PC games magazine site that seems to get an easier way of things. Why, it's still the world's #1 PC games magazine to this day.

How about not relying on them in the first place? It's 2018, not 1998.

Valve has acquired another Indie developer, Campo Santo: https://www.polygon.com/2018/4/21/17266690/valve-campo-santo-firewatch-steam

This isn't the first time Valve acquired other Indie devs of their choice whatever their interests went. They already did with Team Fortress, Counterstrike, Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm, and Dota.
