johnbarbour 0 Posted January 24, 2005 This is my first time on here, I have registered because I really want to ask why has noone made a new c&c game based on the original c&c story line??!!!!!!!!!!!!!? I hear they are making c&c 3 based on the red alert story?!?! what about the original?!!! urban grey NOD troops agains the desert camo GDI was great and very realistsic. That was a good game then red alert was ok but boring, then tiberium Sun = ok then red alert 2 like a babies cartoon game. I mean what the hell is going on?!?!? The c&c series is now very poor(unrealistic and cartoony) i mean look at generals they are all pretty colours and the us rangers run around in multicolored uniforms with their rifles over there shoulder- I mean COME ONE! I have seen the mod for C&C generals but I just want to know am I the only one whos laps up the old C&C? Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted January 24, 2005 We all wanted C&C 3 i.e. Tiberian Twilight, but EA obviously had other ideas. Share this post Link to post
johnbarbour 0 Posted January 24, 2005 oh and I just noticed World Rebellion (a new mod) based on SOVIET units - load of crap, yet ANOTHER game on "red alert" unit types, we already have red alert, red alert 2 and now this! Ive got Soviets coming out of my ears. Get with it we live in an age of Fourth generation warfare but that mod quote " Russia had transformed back into the Soviet Empire" has taken us back to the Cold War. What is this? is the c&c community full of lefties? BRING BACK NOD AND GDI with realism and focus on the theme of organised selfsustainable terrorism, NOT nation state war, we live in a time when state monopoly on war is ending!!!!!!!!! Im gona put c&c Gold on and play all the campaigns again until the C&C community sorts itself out. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted January 25, 2005 lol. I can't wait to see what Thierry says... But yeah a proper C&C game would have been great. But RA will just have to do... for now. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted January 25, 2005 RA3 intros GDI and Nod to the story. Then TT will kick ass as far as games go. Then possibly Tiberian Eclipse. (a cool name for a follow up to TT) Share this post Link to post

We picked the soviets because we felt they were much better to build an army for and a lot more then NOD....and with NOD comes GDI etc, so using NOD would have really restricted our options... Load of crap? Lets see you do better wiseguy Share this post Link to post
General immeyourenot 0 Posted January 25, 2005 We all want TT, but its not coming out for another few years & no matter how many complaints you make it wont change that. DEAL WITH IT! The World Rebellion mod is excellent & lots of people spent a lot of time to make it enjoyable, like Thierry said, I'd like to see YOU make a better mod. Share this post Link to post
johnbarbour 0 Posted January 26, 2005 do me a favour; Don't make a ninja robot mod. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted January 26, 2005 The Soviets were a real superpower during a real time in history. Recent history. People feared them. Some still fear communists. While losing power, communism still has influence on our planet. Imagine if Putin or someone were to resurect the Soviet Union, then show the world up by capturing Bin Laden or something. With all the idiots of today that have forgotten the cold war, there might be no one to object the rise of a communist superpower. Very real. Very threatening. Share this post Link to post
johnbarbour 0 Posted January 26, 2005 People do not fall for the Marxist propaganda and totalitarian thought-control they used too, whether it be because of the information revolution, solidarity i.e. Poland or a general individualism that has spread through Eastern Europe after the fall of the Eastern Bloc. I dont care. What your are saying is to undo Glasnost and perestroika and allow the Soviet Union to return. the Soviets collapsed because of economics, if they rise now they will economically suffocated if they pose a threat. You are more likely to see a nationalist Socialist movement than a communist one. Anyway if the Soviets found Bin Laden it could be put down to something like: the experience in fighting the mujahideen 1979-1989 Afghan war that benefited them whereas the West were disadvantaged being the superpower they are inclined to be militarily conservative. Hence their adoption of 2GW tactics in trying to capture Bin Laden in Tora Bora. Which led to them failing to capture him. As for Vladimir Putin his major task is to to build new institutions in a new global environment. Communism resurrection is a contradiction to this. He has to carry on from the Yeltsin administration whos strategy was for rapid integration of Russia with the West. Anyway its a fact in Russia the elites are miles more hostile toward the U.S. than the masses. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted January 26, 2005 Some could also say that the U.S. being argueably the strongest and most resourceful military force on the planet, not to mention our intelligence gathering assets, should hav hd no trouble bringing in a leader of a fanatical group who is mor concerned with hidding than with fighting. Share this post Link to post
johnbarbour 0 Posted January 26, 2005 Yes but the US is powerful on a 2GW and 3GW protocol not in 4GW. Al Qaeda fights in 4GW war and no amount of military might and intelligence can work if operated through 2GW/3GW principles. I suggest William S Lind to be a good read on this topic. As well as G Friedmans; "America's secret War: Inside the hidden worldwide struggle between america and its enemies" Anyway the whole point of 4GW is to undermine the enemies strength through asymmetry and exploit the enemies weaknesses, so as you say "hiding instead of fighting" is the whole point of his operational nature they dont want to deploy in view of the US forces because that would allow the US to destroy them through the more conventional 2GW & 3GW tactics. Thus playing straight into the enemies strength of as you say "military might". Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted January 26, 2005 Didnt the Soviet Union employ similar military tactics as the U.S.? to counter a similar threat I suppose. Share this post Link to post
General immeyourenot 0 Posted January 26, 2005 do me a favour; Don't make a ninja robot mod. Leave my ninja robots out of this! Sinows already have 3 games to pwn people in, they don't need another Share this post Link to post
