Guest Rabbit Posted March 9, 2011 Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the Gorillaz. I just can't fathom the purpose of seeing them "live." There's a crowd in there shouting at them, right? Amirite? That just seems... so... weird. Share this post Link to post
Plok 323 Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the Gorillaz. I just can't fathom the purpose of seeing them "live." There's a crowd in there shouting at them, right? Amirite? That just seems... so... weird. Actually, if you saw the Bananaz documentary, you could've seen that between 2001 and 2010 they HAD live shows. There was a big stage with a curtain on which projections such as the one above were shown, but behind the curtain was the REAL band with Damon Albarn as the singer, as usual, and you could only see their silhouettes. They sometimes changed the lyrics and music style (compare this live version from the one on the album). As of 2010, they no longer hide, but instead projections are actually music videos of the songs and you can see the entire band. BTW, take a look on Youtube for their Feel Good Inc. live performance on MTV Awards 2006. That was the most expensive animated band's performance ever made.
