Glitchy Graphics / Switch between D3D and OpenGL?

Recommended Posts

For some unknown reason, here lately I have been having a lot of trouble running any games in Direct 3D...But OpenGL works great (time for a new video card I think) :D . Anyway, I have never once had a problem with running Renegade. It has always performed flawlessly. Now, no matter what I set the video and performance levels to, it has real jerky gameplay very similar to the ecffect you get when playing a multiplayer game with really bad lag. I know Renegade is OpenGL compatable and I beleive it renders in D3D by default, so I want to know how to change that. I want to see if that fixes my problem. I have had to do this with all my 3D games, except CNC Generals. I even had to do this for UT2K3. Anyway, any help would be greatly apreciated :D . Thanks in advance.

I don't think Renegade supports OpenGL, only Direct3D.

Have you tried reinstalling or updating Direct X? You should have Direct X 9.0c installed.
