Games you are currently playing? (Spring 2005)

Recommended Posts

With a stream of new forum visitors and a stream of new games hitting the shelves it's time for the Spring version of the CNCNZ forums popular thread.

So what games are you now playing?

I've only got a few games on the go this Month, but all are good.

1) Imperium Galactica 2 - There are Non-DOS some games which get locked away because XP (damn microsoft) won't let you play them. And for 4 years this has been the case with IG2. But since the un-official community patches came out to fix this, I haven't stopped playing it.

This is my favourite RTS of all time. In depth, strategic, and the game oozes polish. In the 5 years this game has been out nobody has been able to create an RTS like this one. It will always be my favourite.

2) Burnout 3 - Road Rage! Why smash up your mum and dads car and cause a pile up when you can do it at home. I've had this game for a long while now and it never gets boring. Just can't wait for Burnout: Revenge later this year.

3) Conquest: Frontier Wars - Another space RTS which doesn't touch IG2, but is effectively C&C in space. A great strategic game, this one keeps you on your toes and for 2001 still has some impressive eye candy.

4) Nuxus - The Jupiter incident (DEMO) - This game was called Imperium Galactica 3. But after something happened with Digital Reality's staff, the game was abandoned and they decided to make the game known as "Haegemonia: Legions of Iron" instead. That meant the game's 80% complete code (but not the licence) was up for sale. A hungarian Developer bought it and finished off the remaining 20% to bring it gold. Everything that was originally coded and created is still in the game.

the Hungarian Developers have made sure that Imperium Galactica 3 was finished the way it should of been. But without the name, they had to change it. Now if only I knew how to conquer this game's interface and gameplay without a damn tutorial (which is needed).

My list:

Battlefield 1942: Still a great game, lot of fun online

Generals & ZH: I think World Rebellion speaks for me ;)

Blitzkrieg: Very cool and realistic WW2 RTS :)

NeedForSpeedUnderGround2(NFSU2): Cool game too.

Right now I have only two things on my mind, the first is my beloved anime, the second being my absolute favorite game:

Warcraft III:The Frozen Throne - It doesn't matter how many times you have played it; it doesn't matter how many times you run through the campain in Hard mode; it doesn't matter how many times you play it with exactly the same people online. This game is great for me in that where other games lose their charm after a few months, all the novelties wear off, Warcraft III carries on, & I keep coming back to it. Perhaps it is the nostalgic feeling I get when I boot it up, perhaps it is complete, enveloping 3D environment & the excellent mapmaking tools. Whatever it is, underneath everything it is a good, solid game, that has something that a lot of games lose with time. Fun factor.

Sonic is having alot of offline commitments of late, but he is getting round to everything he can. I need a bit of feedback in the site & network discussion forum on what you would like to see here @ CNCNZ.com, thread link below. Then I can get into developing this web-site a bit more. I have a couple of ideas, but nothing special, let's make it everybody's site as well as the webmaster's.. OK that's enough plugging :P

My spam filters may have dumped them, sorry. Better resend them. CNCNZ.com mail server was acting strange so that may have caused problems to.

I get more spam trying to sell me Viagra than anything else... I mean what are they trying to say!!! Come on now!?

Anyway back to topic, what games are you playing?

You should be apologising about how weak the joke was come on now surely you could have come up with a few better

I forgot to add Ive been playing Lego Star Wars as well. Even though its made for kids and extreamly easy it is fun to play and very funny. Warning though If you dont want to spoil SW ep III dont play the third section of the game as after a few levels I relised it has the whole of Ep III story in the game.

No offense taken. I'm an open minded person. When I used to go round in a rubbish truck doing collections I had a crew mate who used to try and offend me... but I'd always have excellent comebacks... It passed the working day a lot quicker.

Even though your comment was below the belt, that was nothing in comparison to what my crewmate and myself used to insult each other with.
