What will be zee next C&C related game?

Maybe another Dune game? The last one, Emperor, was laughably horrible and the one before that was Dune 2k. I really think it'd be time for a new one. Maybe expand on the Emperor storyline, which was somewhat open ended, and make a decent game instead of the stuff they've been churning out lately. Actually, if they could make another RTS game that had as good a story as Tiberian Dawn or Red Alert I wouldn't care what it was about. Of course they seemed to have scrapped the story in exchange for 3d graphics and repetitive gameplay. I can only hope they don't botch RA3 and TT like they did Emperor and Generals.

Whats wrong with Dune? With of course exception to that stupid idiotic lame ass attempt by WW last time. It has a cool storyline. They just need some people who can actually make it work....

 

Like... BLIZZARD.... At least THEY make GOOD games. So what it takes FOREVER for them to arrive. At LEAST they arrive. And at LEAST they ARE GOOD!

As a loyal Generals player, I'm appalled that you would put it and Emperor in the same context. Generals was not made for a storyline. It was made for the gameplay. I think that Generals is one of Westwood's, or now, I guess, EA's best games, certainly one of the best RTS's. In all reality, the storyline for the game isn't all that important. Generals was made with multiplayer in mind, and not necessarily to please the stories. As was mentioned earlier with the "connection" between possibilities with the GLA forming the Brotherhood of NOD, and the Allied forces becoming the GDI, and all the other possible connections, I don't really think that they relate.

 

Generals, to me, is a split tangent on the series, and shouldn't necessarily connect into the series. I think that it stands on it's own as a series, and showing by the number of people who play the game, I think that it's safe to say that it was definitely not a "failed game."

Reading over your thoughts and ideas, certain things come into question...

like that guy who posted about RA3 in respect to new units, saying that there will be diamond laser infantry, well keep in mind that the original Red Alert and the Tiberium Dawn universe are 1 in the same.

Red Alert was based on the past of that universe hence why if you played the Soviet campaigns and finished it, you see that woman after killing Stalin with poison speak about "the land of NOD" and why Kane made appearances throughout Red Alert. So maybe in RA3, the brotherhood will rise and take control of most of the old Soviets weaponry and manpower and begin the TD saga and having discovered the "diamond" technology was able to construct a land based defense tower...the obelisk of light. Just 1 possibility...

 

But you also have to consider that the rumor about RA3 is quite old and that is probably a load of !@#$ BUT if it was true then you could see how easy it would be to incorperate it into TD.

 

Also if you note some of the history of TD you will see that most of the European military power was combined with the U.S military governed by the U.N to form G.D.I. Maybe when the Brotherhood ran it's undertaking, the world believed it to be the old Soviets once again trying to ruin civilisation but over the campaigns found it to be a new faction coming up from the old world called the Brotherhood of NOD. Realising that this faction has been fine tuned and learning that this new threat has been planning and training for many hundreds of years, they believe that only forming a united military force they would stand a chance of keeping the world free aka G.D.I. So as you can see it maybe very easy to bridge the gap between those 2 different games based on the same timeline. And that's where I think RA3 will come into play, the bridge of those gaps.

 

Someone also mentioned a Tiberium Dawn-3D game, well this has already been done. Not on PC but on Nintendo64 and it didn't produce popularity as WW hoped for. Now that doesn't rule out the possibility of a TD-3D game for PC with something like the Sage engine but I believe E.A will probably continue on with the different Sagas instead of rebuilding old games even though personally I would love a TD-3D game using the Sage engine.

 

The possibility of a Tiberium Twilight game is also there, I have viewed a site that has some excellent ideas based on TT though it's fan made and no longer maintained and just sitting on the net, that doesn't rule out his ideas. It's the freewebs site if you have not yet heard of it...

could be fake, could be insight, could be a mod for generals...either way it's excellent reading and with some very good ideas, could be used for TT with no problems at all.

 

Both games are possible, both games are welcome by all no matter which order they come out in. The only question now is How Long...

TS came out a few years after TD, RA2 came out after TS also being a few years from RA. I hope we don't have to wait much longer for TT or RA3 to come out.

 

As for a Dune game, I didn't mind some aspects of the campaign such as the territory selection that is lacking in other games. Imagine Generals where the G.L.A have taken over countries, those countries have different sectors, you have to attack a sector, control that sector and defend that sector then build a force to raid the next sector. For G.L.A you have the task of setting the world free eventually conquering the world. Granted that it would be an extremely long game and that there are hundreds of countries and probably thousands of sectors in those countries BUT as loyal Generals fans I thought you would like that. Imagine the possibilities of a game based like that. Now I reckon that would be legendary.

 

Someone also mentioned a Generals 2, though I don't believe that Generals 2 would come out anytime soon if it does come out at all, it is none the less a possibility. Reason I don't believe it will come out soon is because, unless they have perfected a new RTS 3D Engine it would be pointless to make Generals 2 with the same engine as the first. Why make Generals 2 with the Sage engine? better off making another expansion to the first Generals. I also believe the majority of fans would rather continue with TT or RA3 to finish off those sagas and to end a story being played and told for nearly a decade.

 

In any case those are some of my views, wether or not TT or RA3 will come out anytime soon is yet to be observed...as Einstein put it "Sooner or later, time will tell".

Maybe in TT we'll finally see the aliens that brought Tiberium to earth in the first place. (Remember the Scrin Ship) Maybe even the enemy and NOD and GDI would have to team up. There's only one big problem.

Firestorm. In Firestorm they see that within a year, maybe less the earth will be fully covored with Tiberium. So TT would be 3 months after Firestorm??? Maybe the idea of TT became Firestorm.

 

In Ra3 , maybe we could have aliens atacking earth just like in TT.

Or maybe C&C Spacewar. C&C set in the 24th century. Featuring planetary bombardements and Large gargantuan spaceships.

I think it will be Command and Conquer : World Domination where all of the mightiest and weakest nations are allowed to be played and allies and enemies wage open war without any restrictions and trade and gathering and terrorism affect your nations while wars drain the resources of the countries and the player ( or user ) will be the President of a country or nation and real events that had happened in history will also affect the users like a terrorist attack , assasination of a general etc...

 

The game will involve real weapons , real politics etc...

 

The Main Objective will be to conquer the world at all costs.

 

 

The user will also be allowed to progress into the future with the advancement of technology and the resources that are gained.

I don't know where you people are getting these ideas. I played C&C since the very first one came out. RA was a success because it followed the storyline of the original. It featured kane. How would Kane get there you ask? Well if you've played the first C&C you would notice that Kane was just waiting for the ION Cannon to strike him, plus the ION Cannon is blue so you wouldn't really notice but when Kane is being Enveloped in the blue beam of the ION Cannon you should notice it get darker where he is then just vanish. Kane used the chronosphere to escape the ION Cannon and enter the world of RA. TS was supposed to be after RA when Kane returned from his trip to the past (and future if you play the game). Then here's when it gets messed up, RA2 has absolutely nothing to do with the original storyline. No Kane, No GDI, NO NOD and it's supposed to be present day earth? Present day earth in the C&C world was with Gdi and Nod. RA3 would have absolutely no purpose, and TT, I was looking forward to getting it when it came out but what for? When EA BOUGHT WESTWOOD THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED KANE QUIT!!!! That means no more Kane, where does this whole aliens bringing tiberium to earth come in, yea yea i know from TS. Though how would Aliens launch a METEORITE precisly into the Tiber River??? This Generals stuff, why get it? They shouldn't even call it C&C, they should call it "Real Life Present day U.S going against Iraq and afghanistan and North Korea. EA has stained the C&C name. There is no point to C&C anymore. The only good future C&C game is one where they actually go along with the original storyline. Maybe they should even bring back SOLE SURVIVOR!!!

putting kane in the end of the Soviet missions messed everything up. Otherwise, it all makes sense. I always thought that they were meant to be two seperate worlds: one where Hitler was killed before WW2 (RA/RA2) and one where Hitler was alive, leading C&C to show how the world should be. I have no idea where Generals fits in. I always thought it was a stand-alone game.

 

My theory was always that C&C and TS were meant to be a sort of beta test for RA and RA2.

 

Maybe they were all beta tests for Generals, and thats supposed to be the WW masterpiece... :?

 

Can anyone pm me the ending to Tiberium Sun? I never actually got to the end, i bought RA2 before I finished it.

firstly, have you guys read the CnC Encyclopedia?

This is the definitive CnC story as it was written by the creators of CnC.

 

It also implies a new Tiberium Game is the logical step for a true sequel.

 

RA2 doesn't count.. like Generals, it's not a part of CnC story and was made by a completely different team.

 

Secondly, both Westwood and the team that created RA2 and Generals are consolidated into EA Los Angeles studio now. Several people left and formed a new studio, Petroglyph games, www.petroglyph.com

 

On that website they state they're working on a fully funded, AAA RTS game, part of a well known series, and that they've found a big publisher.

 

Sounds like EA is going to let Petroglyph make the next CnC...
