Wtf does the avengers little blue laser do?

Its a linking interface, all Patriots do it, and the Tomahawks wwere going to be able to do it but were scrapped because it was too much of an unbalancing element.

unless i need to protect my patriots from scorps..their missile are devastating...or when i against airforce (still too expensive, king raptor are cheap & plus the pack with missiles, too much for avenger to handle)...other than that, avenger is good for nothing...

Quad cannon is much cheaper $700 against $2000 avenger

 

and upgraded quads pwn all

 

but they can shoot down scuds or tommies

 

avengers can easily. as well at B3s, B52s, and A-10s

Avengers are 2 trick ponys. Quads are the best value in the game. Quads own, simple as.

Problem with Quad Cannons is that they almost don't stand a chance against tanks, unless they're fully upgraded, but they can still be killed even when fully upgraded... I find Overlords useful for squishing tanks... Everytime somebody rushes me with tanks and I have alot of Overlords, I make the two groups meet each other and the tanks just get run over by my Overlords...

1 basic overlord = $2000 plus upgrade = $2500 minimum

 

4 basic Quad cannons = $2800

 

The Quad Cannons are easily better than the overlord because of the tactical flexibility. They can also rip basic vehicles apart in a manner that means when upgraded, they will not necessarily need AP bullets and the Junk Repair to win.

quads are versatile vehicle so far.. i love to use 'em...love to see 'em ripping the planes down..so fragile..

 

when overlord squashing 'em is a different story.. overlord/emperor basically can squash any type of tank.. just imagine cute buggy being run over by an emperor??

i still remember my buggy some how 'stuck' & an emperor squash it like an ant...

that blue lazer increases the acuracly of allied shots, and hus htier damage level

Damage from the laser is great, and the rate of fire is superb. Its the best AA unit in any C&C game ever. Though not the most quirky, that honour goes to the original NOD sam site in TD.

Avengers, when upgraded with hell fire drones actually make an effective counter to rocket buggys. Thats if the enemy only uses rocket buggys though.

hmm never though of using htem that way. Thats good. They counter rocketbuggies, Paladins and Rocket soldeir humvees keep back every thing else, along with a few patchfinders, stick an ambulance in there, and your good to go.

 

maybe a microwave tank or a couple of tomahawks for base assaults

If the rocket buggy's are upgraded (more buggy ammo) one avenger cannot take out all rockets from one buggy.

then balance cost of rocket buggies + upgrades against cost of 1 avenger. make that 2 avengers and your rocket buggies will not get though very much.

Your rocket buggies will occupie the anti-rocket laser from the avenger to the max. Any other rocket will get through. So you need 2 avengers for every 3 buggys. Buggies cost about a third of the avenger (half if against the laser general).

 

Unfortunately I am experiencing that now during the generals Challenge. When Leang attacks with the buggies, the MIG's come in and fire their rockets without too much trouble. I need another avenger in the rear of defenses for that now.

Leangs attacks are very limited in scope, they can only go in one place at one time. Your best bet at dealing with her is putting air units on to patrol the air and ground while you try and create enough avengers to stop her attacks some other way.

3-4 Avengers will stop her attacks like that. Stick a few humvees with missile defenders around and your good to go.

Ziggy, avengers appear to be expensive for our friend sop Raptor will suffice for Anti Air and buggy attack at the minute.

 

2 Raptors > 1 upgraded avenger.

i noticed the terrain doesnt permit to build airfield, unless you move out from your main base..

 

got to ask, i never try this before, what happen when you send in Commanches (a group of) & use rocket pods on avenger (1 or 2)??

my fren claim he can take out 2 or 3 quads with rocket pods...but he never try on avengers..

Avengers rip Comanches to bits and shoot out their rocket pods. You'll be lucky to shoot down quads unless you got about 2 comanches for every 1 quad, in which case, you should be winning. Comanches vs ECM tanks is similar in that their missiles only scatter slightly.
