Favorite General and why?

Recommended Posts

That must have been fun.

I actually like to resource horde, so that I would be able to have the funds to deal with any situation that might arise, similar to General Alexandra. Or use the money to mount a proper military operation if the game allows it. You know, sniper support from Combat Chinooks, rocket soldiers with TOW armed Hummvees, air cover from King Raptors, ect.

Even better: Stealth Fighters backed up by Tomahawk Launchers knocking out Base Defences, and while the enemy is frantically trying to rebuild 'em, fill up those Combat Chinooks with seven Missle Defenders and a Pathfinder each, and send in your Humvees, then your Combat Chinooks about 5 seconds afterwards.

Destruction and downright panic guarenteed.

However, if it's one thing that will make your enemy panic, it definatly has to be Nuke Cannons. Guarded by MiGs circling overhead on Air Patrol, and Helixes and Overlords covering them..they are a force to be reckoned with. A tad tedious on the management side of things, but if you pay attention and you know what your doing then the enemy's perimater will be down in no time.

I'm an artillery freak...hehehe...

I always found that positioning a Nuclear Cannon on a hill with a pair of Gattling cannons guarding it was more than adequate. With neutron shells equipped, it could deal with tanks and th gattling tanks would deal with infantry/aircraft.

I FINALLY managed to defeat Ironside before

I usually use the nuke general and build a bunch of nuke cannons and nuclear silos. Always gets the job done quite well ;) If there's an airforce general around I attack him first and capture the command center.

Well, the MiGs will usually get the offenders coming from one angle of attack, whereas the Overlords will get the other attackings coming from the other direction.

Micromanagement is the key here Cygnus.

Yes. Yes you do. Get it! :P

Yup. A couple of Nuke cannon guarded by 3 overlords, 1 with each upgrade, and yur good to go

whats the point iof holding back with 3 overlords?

Part of the reason for the attack group I said what how versatile it was. If you get ambushed from two sides with tanks then you deserve everything you get. Getting infantry rushed is a different ball game though. The only tanks fast enough to encircle you in the situation you just gavce would bhe light enough for the gattling tanks to deal with aswell...

Yeah, but by the time you get 2 humvees or scorpions coming one way, you'll have hit the other with the cannon, and the sufficient armour on the gattling tanks would have held the humvees off long enough to let a MiG strike help out OR the cannon had reloaded.

hmm....but the cannons neutron shells would be hitting kinda close to your own Gattanks....

this is what I love abotu C&C and Generals......sooo many strategys

My overall favourite General is, as stated, Demo Juhziz, closely followed by Prince Kassad. I play Boss Generals just so I can combine their two powers into something worthy of the GLA. Doctor Thrax is good in city fights or against the infatry general, but not much else. It takes a wry player to play as the GLA and thats reflected especially in the Toxin General.

well if infantry fights with general thrax the toxin general would ahve advantage in bigger maps but if some small map is played then infantry will win cuz their rush is much better!!!!!

Erm, no.

See, regardless of how large or small the map is, the Infantry General will always loose against the Toxin General, because Toxins are the bane of any and all infantry. Attack Outposts and Assault Troopcrawlers have armour the thickness of cardboard. It's one of those things that we call 'balance'.

And thus, toxin are virtually worthless against tank, Airforce, and Nuke general.

and so on and so forth

You can beat the Toxin General with the Infantry general by simply outnumbering him. Though the Toxins may be able to defeat the men in the field, when the tractors get near base defenses, they're history. Its balance once again.
