It's quite a good and viable option for future wars, kiddo. Rather than waste away human lives, automated combat maybe piloted via remote-control or by a single consciousness would prove more effective. Hell, look at WWI and WWII. That was a large waste of human life right there.

But then again, the strain on the economy would be devestating for the looser... :lol:

Well, yeah, it was, but what are robots going to do? Attack, and be attacked by robots? It would just be a waste of money, and a waste of metal...

Well, what do you prefer?

A waste of money and metal, or a waste of human life?

It's not exactly a trick question, foo. :lol: :wink:

You're right... but It wouldn't accomplish anything once people ran out of robots... and the'd probably lower the war age to like 14 or 15 years old...

"Incoming Transmission"-EVA

as for General Leang and Acerz conversation earlier....

GDI anyone ??

um...hello ??

GDI is much like this Rainbow organization that Acerz and Leang were talking about, just more powerful.

Why does the UN not opperate that way ?? It wouold save a lot of the political bickering and shiit that goes on. ANd as ofr amred coountries threatening war, stick a few GDI armor divisions in their capital cities, and they wont be goin to war for al ong time.

Yes, GDI is something of a purely military example of Rainbow. If you read back we discussed the problems of any proposed multinational counterterrorist unit. A military unit would be even more fraught with problems. The backing of the United Nations for example, if we were to have them like GDI. The first mission in the first game would be the strongest show of force is GDI operated under the UN. Who would the majority of GDI's control go to? America? How would the world feel about Bush being handed GDI? As we first saw in Vietnam and again saw in Iraq the way we fight wars and fight against those particularly who spread terror is changing. Conventional means of combat are being countered, and tanks and planes are not going to be the weapons used to retalliate. There is also the issue of funding. Even America now looks to be on the verge of swallowing itself up, and particularly when faced with what they had faced in the past week, with New Orleans and God knows how many small towns in the path of the hurricane being wiped off the map, they look nothing like the one country who could launch a full scale war. If the war in Iraq never happened, then maybe.

no no no. it goes like this:

All member nations of the UN have 2 options for recruits: they can join the member nations military, or they can Join GDI (we save lives...) GDI troops and officers would be trained only by GDI, they would have no nationalities. At first they would come from member nations, but as time went on, they owuld become more and more independent. GDI would have their own accademies and training bases GDi would also get like the top 0.5% officers and troops from country military schools.

They would opperate under a larger UN budget, and on whatever is siezed durring opperations. Each member nation would be required to hand over a certain amount of weapons and equipment. This would serve 2 purposes. 1:nations have less firepower to start conflicts, and 2: GDI now has equipment for virtualy "free" a certain percentage of all UN nation economies (like 0.5% or somehting low) would go to funding GDI and the UN.

That fat guy is Michael Moore, who has so many axes to grind with Bush and America you would think the President raped his mother. He is the guy behind such works of fiction as Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 and is known as either the hero of the fight those wishing to oust Bush and America or bull**** artist extrodenair. Given he has been caught out before, anything he says must be taken with a grain of salt.

As am I dude. I have several friends who aren't NZ european (or whatever they call white NZer's these days..oh yeah! Palangi! :rofl: ) and the majority of them are better than a few of my "white" mates.

Bleah, I prefer not to bother with Michael Moore. He does raise a few very good points, and I agree with him alot, but I tend to stay well away from the "Which side are you on?" sorta thing that's going around. Normally you find the people who hate him are uneducated, patriotic, fundamentalist christian, americans. :lol:

Not that there's anything wrong with being patriotic, or being christian for that matter, but some people are just...hmm..very over-patriotic. :roll: Don't get me started on the Fundamentalists either...lol...

Team America: World Police. :P

:rofl::rofl: Classic!!

Im using GDI as a placeholder here, and the fact that it would be based on the way GDI opperates in C&C....

uuuh only been loosely keeping track with the brazillian guy, but from what i've been hearing first of all he got chased into the underground by about ten police, in plain clothes, then got accidentally shot. of course now the story is there were about 6 police, most in uniform carrying pistols and i think one smg, chased him into the underground, onto a train and shot him point blank in the head. nor did the man have a "puffy suspect jacket" or anything else that might make him appear to be a terrorist o.o;

Anyway i figured the original idea of this (or intended) was that the goverment leaders would basically control the battle the same way the player does in C&C, be it with human soldiers or robot soldiers. Last time i checked US (and possibly UK) forces were pretty close to that... all the soldiers have some level of comm equipment so the commanders have pretty good control and knowledge over their soldier's positioning...

But could you imagine a battle where there is that kind of control over the forces? of course casualties would be lower: highly trained "West Point" candidates wouldn't send their solders round a corner to face a tank without need...

well, it is a lot closer to C&C styale for comanders now....but no fully auto matted systems yet.

Speaking of which, I hate UAVs
