Dim4uk 0 Posted December 16, 2006 Do you prefer the old GDI or the new one wich is more space/aircraft based? to me the new GDI looks like mini version of U.S.a futuristic army Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 16, 2006 Well I dislike GDI regardless of its time and place. But I reckon the new GDI looks kinda cool. Cause those clunky old units back in TS and TD are kinda slow. Share this post Link to post

Dim4uk 0 Posted December 18, 2006 out fo the hole command and conquer francise including all the games GDI are the worst team but i must say the new ones look better than th old 1's Eliminating hover units should prove to be more dissapointing than profitable. tougth it's logical by the styory-line it's not logical by reality factors. Powdernose 0 Posted December 27, 2006 As much as it annoys me for EA to deny TS it's place in storyline technologywise, I must say that those new mammoths look quite damn cool and destructive. GDI never was my favorite side though. But sometimes it's cool to blow up innocent people's homes and that's when I play as GDI. Share this post Link to post
comander starlin 6 Posted December 27, 2006 zlol every time I play GDI I get board and destroy my own base because it is more fun killing the good guys and letting the bad guys win. Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted December 31, 2006 I favor Nod in all aspects, except the fact that they're fanatics about Tiberium. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 6 Posted January 2, 2007 I don't see how we can choose since the majority of us haven't played C&C 3. Share this post Link to post
cyclepsycho 0 Posted January 2, 2007 GDI Isn't my favorite faction but it is cool to play as a branch of the UN that actually does something. If only the real life UN was the same. Share this post Link to post

cyclepsycho 0 Posted January 2, 2007 I was mostly refering to TD. But as for C&C3? I didn't like any of the GDI units in TS so I guess anything will be better than those, maybe. Share this post Link to post

sith_wampa 6 Posted January 17, 2007 It seems to me that the GDI technology has gone down in C&C3. The MMII was way stronger than the puny old tank. And the power plant looks like the old one instead of the one in TS, or even a new one. Aside from GDI, I also noticed that tiberium now is just crystals, and no plant part. WTF?!? Crystals don't just spawn out of the ground. Tiberium is a plant (or something close to it), not a rock. I just hope EA didn't **** this one up too bad. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted January 18, 2007 Nope, it's become more organic. I've had a conversation with Predator over this and it makes perfect sense. In a nutshell Tiberium has sucked all the nutrients from the soil and has nothing left to feed on. GDI have also been doing experiments on Tiberium to kill it off. So instead of die off and give up on life, it's evolution has taken a fold. The plants barrel section has died off and so has it's roots. The base of the crystal is now more like a bacterial life form, which connected to the crystal, have leached deeper into the ground pulling the crystals down with it. Being lower in the ground means more minerals and materials to feed on. It's now living off fossil fuels such as Iron, Oil, Coal etc plus any minerals it finds deeper within the earth's crust. That's why when you look at screen shots, the ground area around the crystals are cracked and glowing. Tiberium is more supercharged, and richer than ever. It emits stronger gasses and also emits micro Tiberium particulate (types of seeds) within its gas, allowing it to spread easier, faster and anywhere. The result is that it's taken more to water than ever before and even grows on things other than the ground. It's attaching itself to rocks, power pylons, buildings, cars, anything which it can break down the molecular structure to survive. A diagram that'll help you understand what Tiberium now is, is located by clicking here. Share this post Link to post
Gen. Yuri 0 Posted January 19, 2007 I actually happened to like Generals (but that's another story.) I favor the newer GDI looks over the ones from the original C&C (where both sides shared a lot of similar buildings) because they seem to emphasize the "function over form" methodology of the GDI. In short, they look like the iron-fisted heavy hitters they're supposed to be. Since I haven't played the game, I won't join in on the EA bashing until I see the result for myself. Although I have to say, this may be the first C&C game where I am seriously considering being NOD on the first play-through. Share this post Link to post

Tiberium is not only trying to consume everything to survive, its a mutagen, its not only growing on things, it can change them into versions of itself. Wikipedia has a whole article on Tiberium. I knew EA was serious about at least trying to get this right when they actually wrote valid reasons for why the GDI went back on some of their technology (frankly, I hated the mechs) and described Tiberium for the first time in great detail.
