Luk3us 63 Posted February 3, 2007 Woman Faces 40 Years for Porn-Infected PC Julie Amero, a substitute teacher in Norwich, Connecticut, has been convicted of impairing the morals of a child and risking injury to a minor by exposing as many as ten seventh-grade students to porn sites. On October, 19, 2004, Amero was a substitute teacher for a seventh-grade language class at Kelly Middle School. A few students were crowded around a PC; some were giggling. She investigated and saw the kids looking at a barrage of graphic, hard-core pornographic pop-ups. The prosecution contended that she had used the computer to visit porn sites. The defense said that wasn't true and argued that the machine was infested with spyware and malware, and that opening the browser caused the computer to go into an endless loop of pop-ups leading to porn sites. Amero maintains her innocence. She refused offers of a plea bargain and now faces an astounding 40 years in prison (her sentencing is on March 2). Full story Now that has got to suck... cnc_sage 0 Posted February 3, 2007 She shouldn't have done it at work where other people (or kids) might see it. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted February 3, 2007 That's bogus. She should be suspended but not put in prison for 40 years. That does not fit the 'crime.' Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted February 4, 2007 innocent til proved guilty :? . their boe didnt require privacy blocks for malware and spyware. it aint her fault. hell i downloaded a seemingly harmless program, a file converter, and sumhow it hijacked my browser to sex .com and gave my anti spyware constant red alerts Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Not exactly crime you know... But suspension (or firing) the teacher is a considerable option, but, well, I don't get the injury to minors part... Share this post Link to post

sith_wampa 6 Posted March 12, 2007 I don't understand why the government doesn't just DESTROY the internet completely if they're so worried about porn, I mean, there's more porn on te internet than there is internet! I mean it! I can even type in death into a search engine and get porn... Share this post Link to post
