KyleBrogan 0 Posted February 20, 2007 I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as I am. Whenever I try to download the Generals ZH 1.04 patch and install it onto First Decade, it comes up with error messages. It always gets to 44%, and then says that it can't find a certain old file, but can find another of a different name, and therefore it can't finish the patch installation. I've looked through the EA site trying to find an answer, but to no avail. Has anyone else run into these kinds of problems? Any help would be great. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 293 Posted February 20, 2007 Someone correct if I'm wrong.... but I don't think you need the v1.04 patch for the First Decade version of Zero Hour. Its already updated to that version. Share this post Link to post
KyleBrogan 0 Posted February 21, 2007 But it says that mine is a different version, so it won't work online... I don't know what's wrong with it. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted February 21, 2007 Do you have any mods you've ever installed to it? Share this post Link to post
KyleBrogan 0 Posted February 22, 2007 No, I don't. That's why I can't figure out what the problem is. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted February 26, 2007 Uninstall, totally delete all the files, reinstall? Share this post Link to post
KyleBrogan 0 Posted February 27, 2007 Done it twice. I guess I'll have to call up EA support and see what they have to say. Does anyone know if, perhaps, it might have something to do with running it with Vista? Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted February 27, 2007 It might but I highly doubt it. 64 or 32 bit? Share this post Link to post
KyleBrogan 0 Posted February 28, 2007 32-bit OS. Running on an HP Pavilion dv9000. Intel® Core2 CPU, 2046 RAM. (Copied directly from my system info.) It's Vista Home Premium, if that means anything. I just can't figure it out, despite poring over the EA support site for a couple hours this week. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted March 4, 2007 Probably Vista has issues. Have you contacted EA? I would of done that as you were making this topic. Share this post Link to post

djpetemcb 0 Posted March 13, 2008 I have the same problem, generals works fine online but generals zero hour doesn't. If i try playing against a friend or a random player, it give me the message - Failled you have a different version. I have the command and conquer first decade and prefer to play zero hour more than generals (more features). So if anyone can help me out, I would be very grateful Share this post Link to post

saro 0 Posted September 24, 2008 Ok ive got the same problem.. I cant connect to games in Zero Hour (It says that I have different version, I think my version is allready 1.04 standard.) When I try to update Zero Hour I got the error: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match. I can connect in normal Generals. I've got The First Decade version and it runs on Vista Ultimate 64 bit So fat I set the Icon compatability options to run as XP SP2 and run as administrator.. I also have done a no cd patch and ive deleted The INIZH.BIG file from the Command and Conquer Zerohour/Data/INI folder.. Does someone know any solution? Share this post Link to post
