Malevolence 6 Posted August 30, 2009 "Files" huh... ~2280gb of space is excessive though. Please, it's not what you think it is. Mostly work, games, other applications and stuff. The Razer Deathadder is a mighty fine mouse. Second that. Ever since I've been using it, the improved sensitivity, and so much comfortable, the cool looks and red leds, I never look back again. Mighty BOB! 4 Posted October 3, 2009 It's a little wasted when Intel recently announced a beefed-up Intel Core i7 950 (3.06Ghz) to replace the 940 (2.93Ghz), in which both versions are at the same price. A little late to respond I know, but it was either build NOW or don't build at all. I did not have time to wait for the 950. Share this post Link to post

Malevolence 6 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Yeah, see that's like waaayyyyy out of my price range. But it will last you a long time. Still don't know if you need all those HDDs though. Still thinking of getting a SSD in the future? They look awesome. Yes, I desperately require alot of storage space for my projects and works. I'm already looking at the SSDs right now and is still considering about it. Currently the interesting models are Corsair Force F120 SSD 120GB or the G.Skill Phoenix Pro SandForce SSD 120GB. With the recent talks on SATA 6.0Gbps and USB3.0, upgrading at this stage is at the wrong time. Definitely later in time I'll make my rig USB3.0 ready by upgrading the existing USB2.0 ports on my casing and planting a new PCI card for it. And changing to SSDs with current SATA 3.0Gbps... I'm not sure. Oh I've recently added another component to increase air ventilation. Doctor Destiny 40 Posted August 8, 2010 I wouldn't use an SSD for anything but a boot drive. Each cycle of an SSD's flash storage degrades it a little until you can't use it and the drive dies. Since you seem to have high capacity read/write cycles, an SSD is not a good choice yet. Share this post Link to post
Fiesta 0 Posted August 30, 2010 Each cycle of an SSD's flash storage degrades it a little until you can't use it and the drive dies. Keep in mind that a write cycle is only complete once the ENTIRE drive is written over, and consumer SSDs are rated for tens of THOUSANDS of write cycles; so no matter how you use it, the SSD will outlast most of the rest of the system. And here she is at my desk, in all its dual screen glory! And I cleaned my desk up too. Oh, and yeah, that is a box of floppy disks on the left. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted November 15, 2010 I like the case a lot. Also, don't you like widescreens or something? With the SSD, do you notice any 'significant' speed up in boot time and all that jazz? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted November 15, 2010 The reboot speed is incredible with my SSD. It went from about a minute and a half from XP and a traditional HDD to right around 30 seconds. Might even be less than that. [EDIT] I've had these monitors for ages. I didn't need to change them out since they work. xD Share this post Link to post
