C&C3 Renegade mod?

I've been wondering how long it'll be before C&C3 Renegade mods pop up, or a conversion does? The W3D engine is still impressive to me, pretty crisp graphics and amazingly low requirments. It could be done again! And the C&C3 models will be detailed and easy to mod. The third side, the Scrin, would probably be neglected. But ... I think it could be done. But would EA have a fit?

 

Seriously. I think C&C3 has some new material I'd love to see in a shooter. But maybe EA is already thinking this.

Check back 2015, there might be a playable version done by the community... But then again, the speed they sometimes go, I'm thinking more like 2020.
