Network play with wife.. NO DEAL!?PISSED OFF!!

I just swallowed my pride to beg the wife for $40 to buy tiberium wars.. I got home and started playing the campains and it was great. When I asked for the money, it was on the promise we'd play network with the game.. I'm finding out now, Unlike Red Alert 2, You can't set it up to play network with 1 game and you have to purchase another because it gives the error message when I run network play, Error on serial ID. In the words of one Martin Short Charater,,.. THIS SUCKS ASS I must say..

Well of course this is not the PSP that could just get the data from the other PSP...Im impressed your wife would wanna play.

Well actually the law states you are allowed to copy a disc for backup purposes only if you already own the game. So that's perfectly legal. And so is bypassing the authentication by using an original game disc, because of the above reasons.

 

However the temptation to grab a serial you just happened to find lying around on the net of course is just purely coincidental by any means. :wink:

That's what people think, and in some places it is correct- but in NZ the law says you may not copy it or back it up at all.

A few people have been caught out by that, and the NZ Herald had a big article on it outlining your rights under digital media and copyright.

 

Basically, what you buy is what you get. You aren't allowed to convert it, copy it, play it to an audience, charge for use of it, or many other things, without permission from the copyright holders.

I must say marriage has been like handing the keys to ft. knox over to the taliban when I agreed she'd do the budget.. Watching her "frugal" hands blow thru 7 grand in 4 weeks was the last straw... I know now the bitter flaws of relegating your finances to the other half.

Well, set up a budget that you both agree on (i.e. she/you get a certain percentage to spend each, save a certain percent, etc) and stick with it...that'll probably fix your problem

but yeah, its kinda suck a bit but so what about it?

 

here in my place, its kinda a lost to EA as some towkay using only 1 ID on every pc in his cyber cafe.

and some using, i dont know what is the software, to generate random serial ID.

 

*sigh*

 

pirated software is everywhere while the original is some what hard to find.
