dirkboy 0 Posted April 28, 2007 I just swallowed my pride to beg the wife for $40 to buy tiberium wars.. I got home and started playing the campains and it was great. When I asked for the money, it was on the promise we'd play network with the game.. I'm finding out now, Unlike Red Alert 2, You can't set it up to play network with 1 game and you have to purchase another because it gives the error message when I run network play, Error on serial ID. In the words of one Martin Short Charater,,.. THIS SUCKS ASS I must say.. NOW i swallowed the pride to ask for the money and EA.. YOU WANT ME TO RUN OUT AND BUY ANOTHER GAME IN ORDER TO PLAY NETWORK@@!!!!!!!!!!!! CMON!!!!!!!!! IS it just me or is this a MAJOR DOOSH on ea's part?? Share this post Link to post

Luk3us 63 Posted April 28, 2007 lol.. Asking the wife for cash? lol, got you wipped huh. Post Edited by Admin - Don't post or discuss anything related to copied/ripped/downloaded versions of any games (C&C or otherwise) or other software applications. Under no circumstances should you post questions or replies offering methods to circumvent copy protection schemes. This includes asking for or offering links to NoCD patches for any games (C&C or otherwise) or other software applications. This is covered in the forum rules. Or at least I've heard of some doing that, with varying degrees of success. I look down on all who would do such unspeakable things though. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted April 28, 2007 Well actually the law states you are allowed to copy a disc for backup purposes only if you already own the game. So that's perfectly legal. And so is bypassing the authentication by using an original game disc, because of the above reasons. However the temptation to grab a serial you just happened to find lying around on the net of course is just purely coincidental by any means. Share this post Link to post

A few people have been caught out by that, and the NZ Herald had a big article on it outlining your rights under digital media and copyright. Basically, what you buy is what you get. You aren't allowed to convert it, copy it, play it to an audience, charge for use of it, or many other things, without permission from the copyright holders. Share this post Link to post
dirkboy 0 Posted April 30, 2007 I must say marriage has been like handing the keys to ft. knox over to the taliban when I agreed she'd do the budget.. Watching her "frugal" hands blow thru 7 grand in 4 weeks was the last straw... I know now the bitter flaws of relegating your finances to the other half. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted April 30, 2007 And she was reluctant to give you 50 dollars for a game? WHHA?! Your story makes me want to not get married even more. Share this post Link to post

Well, set up a budget that you both agree on (i.e. she/you get a certain percentage to spend each, save a certain percent, etc) and stick with it...that'll probably fix your problem Share this post Link to post
VampireA05 0 Posted May 2, 2007 well, thats bisnes anyway.. but yeah, its kinda suck a bit but so what about it? here in my place, its kinda a lost to EA as some towkay using only 1 ID on every pc in his cyber cafe. and some using, i dont know what is the software, to generate random serial ID. *sigh* pirated software is everywhere while the original is some what hard to find.
