Near Conflict Mod for C&C 3 Announced

Runny Nose Productions (you have to like that name) have announced their mod for Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars called Near Conflict. Here is a quick summary of what this mod has to offer.

 

Near Conflict takes place in 2010 in the country of Iraq. Since the war "Iraqi Freedom" began, scientists have been working on new technologies to help our soldiers in the battlefield. You, as a commander, will be able to take control of many different soldiers with new weapon systems and vehicles that will take strategy to use at full effect.

 

During 2005 to 2007, the war's pace seemed to really slow down because of the one sided advantage the U.S. army has against the Al-Qaeda in Iraq. The war seemed to be getting closer to an end in 2009 when the al-Quada had stopped all of the bombings and failed to show any real threat to the world.

 

 

Just as it seemed over, something happened that the U.S. did not see coming. In 2010, the U.S. army was deliberately attacked by the North Korean army. All hell has broken loose for the U.S. as they try to recover from the surprised attack. The North Korean army is threatening the United Nations with an uncertain number of nuclear missiles. With this threat, the U.S. and with the help of the U.N., is bringing the war back to the North Koreans.

 

Some key features include:

- Weapons and vehicles that exist in the real world

- Challenging missions with an immersive story

- Multi player support with 3 game types (announced later)

Not even sure if theres Going to be any fighting against Arab nations in this mod it sounds like.. seems the mod will take place After the koreans attack the US army and therfor most of the fighting may be against them (with som help from the U.N.).

But I could be wrong..

No offences to the mod creators but I just get whole C&C Generals vibe from it. It looks like a Generals mod for C&C 3.

Yeah, it would be nice to see something a little more creative around here. There are too many games and mods that depict current events in the war on terror.
