Louis EX 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Imagine playing a game with your mind. Its all coming true right now with NeuroSky Technology and their special HL2 Source Engine mod. http://actionnooz.com/video/tech/neurosky-...ith-brain-tech/ Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted July 20, 2007 I saw this in a paper in the UK recently. This 19 year old woman who had a stroke when she was only 7, was able to communicate for the first time when using one of these machines. But the initial cost is still expensive, so regardless of what that video tells you, we won't be finding this sort of thing in our games and stuff for another 8-10 years yet. The basic system costs £4,500 ($9,000) and can go all the way up to £17,600 ($34.200) for the more sophisticated models. So I would hardly call it a consumer product right now. Azrael 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Well, I can wait 10 years... Or maybe not. I'll be 24 by then, and that means that I'll be working... Less time to play sophisticated or cool games... Oh well, I'm satisfied with how we all play our games, no need for high tech stuff. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted July 20, 2007 You're only 14? Figured you were a little older lol. Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Let's say experience turned me into what I am. P.S. Everyone I know tells me my face is that of a 1st year college student, even though I'm just 2nd year high school. Share this post Link to post
mormreed 0 Posted July 20, 2007 sounds like my friend, he's gonna be a junior this year but walking into sophomore year he had a full chinstrap beard Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted July 20, 2007 I'm still a sophemore, and my facial hair isn't that long yet, but it's visible already. It's my wrinkles, pimples and other qualities of my face that had my friends commenting that I look old for my age. P.S. This is going out of topic. Can at least someone make a comment about the product which this topic is tackling? Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted July 21, 2007 Saracen is right, this stuff is still way too expensive. But waiting about 10 years for this is worth it. Share this post Link to post
Louis EX 0 Posted July 21, 2007 I guess I could wait 10 years for the thing to be refined and cheaper. Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Well, yeah we can wait, but then by that time... More responsibilites, like a job, bills, etc., maybe even a family of your own. Share this post Link to post
mormreed 0 Posted July 21, 2007 well be this is one thing saracen won't be buying for his wife anyways yeah I can wait a while for the price to come down and to make it work even better for now I can use the wii-mote to play games Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted July 22, 2007 Yeah, Wiimote is cool... But this NeuroSky Technology is like a built up version of the Wiimote... Instead of moving your hands, which is a hell lot easier than the other ways of playing games, you use your mind, which is TOTALLY RAD. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted July 22, 2007 mormreed]well be this is one thing saracen won't be buying for his wife She's already hinting at me to get her a Wii for Xmas, I'm just not listening. Share this post Link to post

mormreed 0 Posted July 23, 2007 now a wii is ok but if you get one get the game Red Steel, it looks like the coolest game ever, when my friend gets it we're gonna pull an all-nighter playing it Share this post Link to post
S1lentOp 0 Posted July 25, 2007 Now we can finally beat Yuri at Counter-Strike: Source. He's had the upper hand for years now, but not more! It's time we strike back! Seriously though, this is pretty cool. I'd love to see how it feels to actually work on of those things. I just hope that you can control things with your keyboard and mouse still, though. I can just imagine having to control my game and then something happening around me and distracting me long enough to ruin what I was trying to do in the game. I wonder how it'll be able to differentiate between a person concentrating on the game and a person concentrating on something outside of the game. Share this post Link to post
Louis EX 0 Posted July 26, 2007 Imagine the next generation of gamers! It used to be just using your hands! Now you don't need to move a muscle! Share this post Link to post
mormreed 0 Posted July 26, 2007 except for that one people call your brain Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted July 27, 2007 Yeah, I'd guess that would be cool... P.S. Louis EX, what's with the Luna Lovegood craze...? Share this post Link to post
