Bioshock - Classic Game or Over Hyped?

But of course, thats true, you have to fill the world with good content to make it more than only eye-candy, or, make that eye-candy irresistibly atmospheric and epic, as Bioshock.

Dude... Bioshock is the same cookie cutter bull**** that keeps coming out. And people saying it's so ****ing awesome isn't helping either. The gaming industry is becoming more and more like movies and music. People saturate the market with mediocrity and the really good stuff dies. In other words, the only saving grace is classic games like Red Alert, GoldenEye, Half-Life and the like.

I only played the demo of Bioshock but I don't think it sucked. The demo didn't really impress me at all. Bioshock is another classic example of a game being way over hyped and every fan boy getting sucked in by that hype.

 

Bioshock isn't a terrible game but its not worth coughing up the money for at almost $100 here in NZ. I'll get it when the "hype" dies down and its half the price.

I'll never buy a single-player game so meh. I didn't know the hype much around it, don't keep up with FPS communities and such much. So when I tried it I was like "" pretty cool game.

BioShock is a good game. You don't like it because it's "movie" like? Uhh... It's still a great game, so either way, I couldn't give a ****.

You're right, majority does drive sales. That's the problem. If people [ie; you] continue buying bland, uninspired games like Bioshock, we see no improvement. Nothing changes and games keep getting ****tier. And then companies, web sites, fanfaggots, etc keep touting X game as the bestest evar, other consumers get suckered into buying a mediocre game, who then proceed to deal with it because they're just as braindead as the idiots touting the game in the first place.

I never was in the hype, hell, I didn't KNOW about it till like 2 weeks prior cause I saw it on steam. I tried and it was a pretty damn good game.

I couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Bioshock's Demo felt like an extremely average game. It didn't have the look and feel that I was expecting.

 

To be quite honest it's an extremely poor utilisation of the 3rd Generation Unreal Tournament engine. I sure hope UT3 doesn't play like Bioshock, that's all I have to say.

Pff... OK you guys all suck. Bioshock is great, sure it has some really ****ed up gameplay elements, like not rewarding skill in the slightest. I mean dying doesn't even matter in this game... And some other minor issues, like messed up story at times...

 

I've only played a small portion of the full game, been busy, but its fair good if you ask me. The plasma upgrade things are fairly unique to this game. And the general theme whilst done again and again, is still unique, I mean underwater city is nice. Name me another game with a similar setting recently released like it.

 

As for Yoko, meh opinions are like assholes, and **** do you have a **** load of of assholes.

Ill give Bioshock a try when the price is down a little.
