Azrael 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Halo doesn't suck, you dolt. It beat the living crap out of any other recent game release. The graphics are excellent, it has a nice story, and at least it's novelizations, comic books, etc. all contribute to the overall story, not just give the story from another characters point of view, like the C&C3 novel does. Azrael 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Dolt - 1. (pejorative) A stupid person; a blockhead or dullard. * c. 1603: William Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice O gull! O dolt! As ignorant as dirt! Anyway, there are lots of nice story-driven games, including C&C, but when it comes to novelization, that's the difficult part. The different point of view thing in Half-Life was still game based, which was ok, given the fact that the levels, some enemies, etc. were different in a way. It's the novelization we're trying to talk about, and hey, let's face it; the other Half-Life versions (Blue Shift and Opposing Force) pretty much gave you new knowledge about the game universe, and even innovated or built up what the original Half-Life made. The thing that made me actually HATE the C&C3 novel was the fact that it was the same story, without anything new at all, and just wrapped in another character's point of view. That may be (partially) what happened in Halo: The Flood (novelization of Halo: Combat Evolved), but at least it continued the story gap between Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, not just turn the game into plain words. JahSpoR 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I agree, but I think it's becouse EA won't exploit the whole story before the game is released. When theire finished with "The Second Decade" I think better novels about C&C Tiberium Wars will pup up. Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted October 25, 2007 By that time, I'll have no time to read, so simply put: I won't buy. Share this post Link to post
recover 2 Posted November 7, 2007 I agree the first novel was kinda below-what-I-like-to-read but still in-teh-universe in a-kinda-bad-way and while it revealed-too-little-to-be-worth-buying-it-storywise it could-have-been-a-good-book if its-had-ended-with-it and I will-probably-buy-the-second-novel even though I-will-probably-regret-it. Don't really know why I wrote it that way. Btw, Avist Torch, you got the same quote in your sig as me Share this post Link to post
