What kind of moron store has the game discs in the box on display these days? I mean really?

WalMart. Best Buy. Target. etc.

 

I can go on all day but display copies are for crappy stores with no cameras.

it's funny that you get in way more trouble for torrenting a game (if they catch you) than if you go to the store and steal a physical copy , I couldn't find the penalties but it's something ridiculous

very close to impossible if you are using wireless internet that comes from the whole neighbourhood (many many people in this case).

They can't come closer to you than the wireless router, and if it ain't yours and no one knows that your'e using it. It can be quite difficult to find you.

Pah, most companies will only threaten you with legal action, most will not bother actually taking it to court, as it costs more money than its worth. Especially when you get into issues such as international jurisdiction, and more over the usual, "iffy" ways they managed to identify you....

I've gotten a few games of of GamersGate recently. It's an OK system for game distribution, just login to your account and download the game; it's OK to install it on 2-3 machines as well. So all my machines can get a copy - without requiring a disc in the drive
