What do you want to see from RA3?

Recommended Posts

As much as I would like walls to make a comeback I've gotten used to not having them since C&C3 so I wouldnt be too bothered if they aint there. Good music is a must, but then again we've been askibng for good music for C&C games since Generals but it hasn't happened yet. Bring back CGI ingame movies. They were great in all the others but were sady lacking in C&C3, then again, personalities of the characters were lacking too.

First of all I'd like to see the atmosphere of RA and RA2 in it. I'd give anything to get excited as on the first Soviet mission in RA2, which gives me so great memories. I'd like to see walls and of course massive explosions. The comeback of the Kirov is so nice and I'm in love with it. Also having C&C3 is a great example of what EA can do and can't do. I hope all of the best feats of C&C3 make a come back - battlecasting, the classic interface and mouse setup and the good responsiveness of the game. And not on the last place I want a damn rockin' OST!

Sorry guys, I just figure America would be like the backbone of the Allied Forces.

I thought the french were the backbone of everything... :o

I want single infantry to make a return. Squads work well in games like CoH but they don't really feel like CNC and especially not Red Alert.

When were Islamic states even mentioned in the RA series? That'd just be retarded to bring them in now.

I just want more information. lol

Will Yuri be back? Why of all things is Japan the third faction in a fight between the Allies and Soviets. Arent they part of the allied nations??

Third Faction (If Japan)

-SuicideTech

*Fanatic Warriors (If Japan)

*Kamakazis

-Warrior to the core faction.

-Salvage abilites?

-TechnoWeapons

*Light but cheap build up.

*Lasers?

*Force Fields?

*Lightsabers?

-Reinforcements from Underground

-Good AirTech

*AirCraft Carriers.

*Ship Bases (Build the base on a ship. lol???)

-Hacker Engineer

-Tunnel Technologies

*Can spun up defensive bunkers and tunnels.

-Boomer Sub Tech (Oh well  )

-POKEMON (Yeah THE BEST SUPERWEAPON OF ALL  )

I for one would also like to have more information, particularly on the Empire of the Rising Sun. However, I have to say most of your thoughts are what the GLA had in Generals. Which was alright in my opinion but not something I'd like for Red Alert 3. My specific thoughts:

- A salvage ability might be interesting but if wreckage is going to be a permenant fixture on the battlefield and possibly a obstacle to move around, then perhaps all three armies should be able to recycle. Unless of course you're talking about the Nod Avatar ability, which was a bit overhyped.

- EA mentioned adding transforming tanks to the mix so maybe the EotRS would have more transformers then just the Tsunami and the Seawing Bomber. With that, I would like to see Yuri's Slave Miner and the Firestorm Mobile War Factory reappear in some fashion. For that matter, why not make more of the Japanese buildings mobile deployables? It certainly would be a first for C&C and with almost every unit seemingly sporting a amphibious mode this time around, the EotRS would be lethal on island chains, hopping from one resource spot to another to starve the enemy of credits.

- I hope their units are a little on the pricy side to justify all these dual-role transformers, the Soviets have canonically held the "cheap massive horde" position so it would not be fun to have two cheap spammers try to drown the Allies out in a flood of disposiable units.

- Mecha may be a little lame but

are real world "out there" experiments in mechanized walkers even if the silly things are impractical. So of course, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect mechs as the possible second "signature tech" for the Empire if perhaps a little unimaginative. However, whatever their second tech is, hopefully it will be cool.

Let me turn that question around and ask "where was Japan in all of this?" Iraq did throw in with the Soviets and South Korea did side with the Allies in RA2 so it's not like the Asian and Middle Eastern spheres were ignored but Japan still was completely unmentioned.

However, they are also called the EMPIRE of the Rising Sun. Did the Soviets do something with their chronosphere experiments that let the Japanese lay claim to all their WWII (the version before Einstein's meddling) Pacific holdings? Does this mean the Empire actually includes coastal China, the Korean pennisula, and most of the Pacific islands in the east?

Did I say Japan was better? my view of it... It should be two sides, but multiple sub factions. Soviets (with sub factions) vs. Allies (with subfactions)

Eh, we'll see as time goes on. B)

Did I say one was better then the other either? I personally don't mind the Empire, they look like they might be fun (but then I usually gravitate to the weird armies anyway.)

My point was, with time travel being so ingrained into the Red Alert canon, anyone can have a shot at super-science charged greatness.

As long as I don't see any ****ing gundams, Japan will be great. Seriously.

But I ask, why not Japan? If we can have Yuri, we can have another third faction.

Islamic states would most likely have been invaded by the Soviets already, so no, I don't see them as a power in RA universe. Having them would be stupid imo.

You mean like the times the Soviets tried to "invade" them in our world only to get beaten back with their own guns (Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan)? But yes, having a Islamic themed army has already been done (GLA) so another would be kind of cheap.

Well without our ww2 Japan is the only other nation that had a massive buildup of forces to not have appeared in the Red Alert universe so far. And without ww2 japan would have had the same buildup the soviets did without Hitler. Now as the soviets have gone back in time to again change history i think Japan is the perfect faction and fits perfectly with the whole red alert theme of time travel allowing a new power to emerge.

Someone making sense on the Internets? Win.

My gawd, it makes too much sense not to be true. You win sir.

-def need squids and dolphins they were so strategically fun...

-no islamic factions..played-out and like alpha said wouldnt make much sense..

-the view should be zoomed out just a bit,...just a bit

-ambient sound like in RA2...dont have cnc3 so i cant reference it...

-kickass sound...metal most preferably...klepacki we need u!

-cloning for one faction and maybe training for another if need be balanced

-japan not be all about stereotypical things like ninjas and stuff...

-TANYA...hell yes, dont care if its her or her daughter..some sexy lady named tanya will do..

-soviet hero unit similar to boris, but maybe hot chick instead...

-a level of science fiction similar to CnC3 or RA2...but not too much

-similar super weapons to RA2...they rocked

-in general, the game have all the cool stuff RA2 did and all the features CnC3 had....

alpha was there WW1 in RA history?

Yeah man, instead of Hitler turning Germany into a fierce warmachine, Stalin had a build up of military forces and itched for terrority in Europe so instead of the Axis powers the Allies fought the Soviets.

Yes I would assume so as the even that caused the alternate history was eliminating hitler before his rise to power so WW1 would be unaffected.

(Offtopic: What do you class Indonesia as then?)

I much prefer the funky Japanese side regardless. Generals/Zero Hour is too politically charged, no need to hinder the fun of RA3.

LOL at expendable Soviet Heroes...

What about the traditional shroud/Fog of War arguments?

1 Nah, they were a little over the top.

2 Yeah, I guess Japan would be better and make more sense. Forget what I said about that.

3 No, a lot.

4 Yeah, RA2 sound rocked. CNC3 sound was quite unnoticable. I turned it off and have wmp running, so it wasn't that great....

5 Indeed.

6 Well, Japan can have cloning for all I care. Allies, no. Sovs, maybe. As long as it's balanced :)

7 Not too much, but a little I wouldn't mind. Samurai's with light sabres is a definite no.

8 HELL YEAH!

9 The hot chick preferably, but soviets will probably have a hot chick anyway, so a cool male hero will do as well.

10 Indeed. But I think CNC3 sci-fi is already pushing it. Just a slight advance on RA2 sci-fi will be great.

11 Indeed they did. Any got thoughts on the Japanese SW? Since it's the empire of the rising sun, maybe some sort of large napalm/fiery bomb?

12 Yes.

@Kofi/gben: Shroud should definitely be there. But once revealed, revealed forever, like in the older games. Having to constantly rescout is annoying and discourages counter-tactics.

yea i really hate regrowing shroud...one thing i hated about SC

and i really liked the squid because it was cool how it could attack ships, and the dolphin was great for detection and scouting...

as for Japan SW....hm....well it would have to match the theme of the faction, and so far it sounds like they will be technologically innovative with planes that turn into boats so... and nothing that has been done before in CnC..

maybe an earthquake machine, or TSUNAMI machine....i think those r great ideas for the bigger SW..imagine seeing the ground split open and building falling into the earth=COOL

as for the secondary SW for Japan...i duno

Something with vulcano's, tsunami's, earthquake's, the power of the sun, possibilities are near limitless.
