The new Economy model

Recommended Posts

So now that its official that RA3 is getting a more Generals influenced resource system what do you guys think?

Incase you are retarded the new system is that, basically there are no Ore fields. But Ore holding facilities around the map, which you build a refinery in front and and a single harvester gets your resources for you. So you can't spazz harvesters and drain fields quickely like you could in C&C3.

but you could spam harvesters in generals xD either through buying spares or buying more refineries o.O; there is always a way to spam for money XD people will always find a way X3; anyway i think the idea is good o.o less likely to run out of money so fast oo

Well apparently you'll only need the one harvester to gain maximum efficiency. Which was the case in Generals anyway, it was like two helicopters or whatever for the US any more and it slowed things down.

I kinda like getting more money with an extra or two harvesters. Now, ten refineries and four trucks for each one is a bit extreme like you see happen in C&C 3 games.

I only had one real problem with the Generals supply docks though, I hated that they never restored themselves once depleted, if that be the case with RA3 too, well, I guess it'd be disappointing.

Yeah the lack of replenishment was a pain. Are they going with the ZH secondard income (Internet centres, Supply Drops, Black Markets)???

they'd better have secondary systems otherwise people are gonna end up with no money in long matches o.O; i mean the primary stuff doesn't last forever... normally it takes like, 20 minutes for it all to run out :\

resources will not be unlimited. The ore mines will eventually run out and will require the player to secure new ore mines on the map in order to continue producing units and structures.

That makes me sad

I found being forced to set up minor bases all over the maps in Generals, just to secure another supply dock, to be annoying. I don't mind secondary bases, they are indeed fun to create, but I hate being forced into it.

:o

so RA3 is basically Generals 2???

hmmm...

I like the idea of speed boost to the kirovs - the idea is done well.

I don't know why they bothered with the current version of the refinery. Why not just cut to the chase and call them oil derricks? Which makes me think that is probably what the sea resource is going to be... some sort of oil drill rig.

If the soviets have the general style building animations, and the allies have the C&C3 style pop-up defenses, what different style are the japanese mobile bases going to develop - could it possibly be a UAW hardpoint style?

Moving bases, like they planned to do in C&C3 would be cool. :P

who knows what it'll be. imagine lots of different things and it'll probably be the worst idea out of the lot if we're talking EA XD

Maybe MCV style?

MBV (Mobile Barracks Vehicle) MWFV (Mobile War Factory Vehicle) MRV (Mobile Refinery Vehicle) ect (et cetera)

Actually, maybe the EotRS's whole base is one mobile unit, and buildings are upgrades on top of it. :o

now -that- would be awesome ^_^ especially if the base had a cloaking upgrade XD you could sneak right up behind your enemies base and while they're searching for you, you assault them from behind >:U

but i think that's too cool and too advanced for EA xD

Not to mention a little OP if you can just move your entire base, cloaked no less into your enemy's base. :P

hella overpowered xD but it would be funny. especially if the base had defences on it XD you'd hear stories and see vidoes of people defeating their enemies with nought but the base XDDD yah... not the best idea. but still funny x3

As long as base defenses don't move.

What if the money is like in generals then empire of the rising sun can move bases then they could move to a new oil ore thing(i dont know what's it called) the they can get to the money without being attack by moving a mcv to a new spot other than the sea because you need to buy it there i guess so they will win long matchs it the oil ore thing run out they move. It's like yuri with those damn ore factorys.

You mean something like Yuri's slave miner? Only without slaves so it's actually a moving refinery? :yr:
