Agreed with all of the above, plus most of Banshee's posts. I may have a biased perspective here, but it seems to me that a good portion of the community never goes on the official forums, so having the Community Manager & crew come over and post on the fansites is essential.

Is that a "which game that doesn't already have a fansite deserves one?" or a "which game that already has one deserves another?"

Don't worry, they take care of people like us. The installer has a slideshow w/voiceover explaining most of the backstory I had long ago forgotten

As one of the guys at GR.org mentioned, there almost HAS to be a LAN package Blizzard has made, if only because of all the Korean pro leagues etc; it may take a bit to be introduced, but I highly doubt there won't be one at all eventually. As to what you said, Malevolence - I agree...the fanaticism of some of the fans is insane. Personally, I bought the game because Blizzard has a record of turning out solid RTS games, and as I mentioned above, it was well worth it. The awesome thing about them having such a long dev cycle to work with is they can put so much more attention to the details. You can really tell a lot of thought was put into the game, rather than just a checklist of "Create a storyline - update an engine a bit - throw some new units in there - add one new feature/twist" etc. I played all the C&C games far more than Starcraft, but the sequel is going to be right up there on my list in due time I think, even if it doesn't pass the amount of time I spent on RA2/Renegade.

That was the best money I've spent on a game since RA2. Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water, and I'm not even close to completing this massive campaign.

How are those in the mid-range, Sonic? To be honest, I'm more worried about the mids than the highs or lows - for some reason almost all speaker systems seem to have trouble making the mids sound really nice.

Right now, I have the Bose Companion 2 Series speakers. Pic, for Malevolence: I was thinking of selling those, and getting the Companion 3 series for the bass, but was wonder if y'all had any thoughts/suggestions on a set that might be better for around the same price. So far I've had a great experience with Bose so I have no particular reason to want to change, but if I can get better speakers for the same price, that would be sweet. I came upon this video earlier today, and it brings back so many memories...especially from 2:27 onward; just remembering the excitement the day I first got the game, to all the fun matches online and offline...in my humble opinion, this game is pretty much the epitome of C&C.

That game's definitely one of my favorites of all time. I'm having trouble though atm...I was looking today for a game someone similar to Tiberium (or what it should have been at least), and I can't find a damn thing. Seems they all focus more on multiplayer, when I just want a decent single-player. =/

Yea, same tbh Seeing the Westwood logo again was quite nostalgic for me, gotta say.

The satellites are the same size as the actual speaker on the companion 2's as well, but the C2s have to make bass in the same speaker so they're bigger individually. I'll check out Logitech, since y'all seem to all like them. My mouse/keyboard/headphones are logitech as well, so why not complete the collection eh?

This, and most people are reluctant to change brands when they already have one they know & trust after the above hooks them.

I think it's kinda natural for the veteran posters here to just go on the forums - we're here for discussion (well, I'm not able to be active, but when I get a chance, I come to the forums) as well as news, and the forums give both, as well as quicker access to a greater portion of the news (text is smaller than pictures and nicely formatted articles ) Personally, I check the main site sometimes because it looks awesome, but when I just want to get news I'd rather go to the forums because I not only get news easier & quicker, but I get opinions of people as well. While many of the posters may not check the main page as much, I'd risk a guess that most of the people that visit the domain visit the main page instead of the forums, since they're looking for the latest news, not as much discussion.

Either way, this is looking pretty awesome, and I'm enjoying the Beta a lot.

The thing is though, the majority of the time the other team isn't really playing well as a team either, so if you get 1-2 allies that will even work with you for 5 minutes, you can completely turn the tide of the game.

I don't know about ya'll, but I"m actually rather enjoying the beta. Got to GDI General, and the Kodiak is an absolute beast. Anyway, post your gamertags and I'll edit them into this post so we can add each other and play together So far: F15pilotX - F15pilotX
