C&C 4: Tiberian Twilight Hi-Res Box Art & New Logo
Silverthorn replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Sigh, very well, Sonic, I hear ya'. Hopefully the marketing team better not think about continuing with their infamous copy & paste when they work on that box, it better have something in the upcoming months including better improve themselves for future games. -

To be honest, I thought it was. I'm not a big fan of looking at concept arts though, so I don't know any of it. So in this case, let's just forget about it. -

I also agree, Existor's Tiberium crystals on his Tiberium trooper wallpaper are really good, now that's what I call a masterpiece drawn from scratch (I'm referring to the crystals that is). But still, too bad the art department team is really lazy just to save cost and time. The cover art may look like masterpiece on the outside, but on the inside, it taste bitter and I took it! Ooo damn you, you lazy retarded artists, I really wish I could replace you all if I were the director of EA. And definitely that picture will NOT be my poster either as I don't accept copy & paste! It can be my poster IF that is completely drawn from scratch. But in this case, never mind, I don't need to buy the whole game anyways as the franchise already failed me. You can get the picture where I'm getting mine from. EDIT : Now I really wish Apoc can listen to me by redesigning the whole boxart before the game's release. Sure, I don't mind you all can use back the X design (Yes, I'm giving some chances), but I prefer the whole box to be drawn from scratch just like Westwood did with theirs or even the other game companies did with their boxarts. It maybe only a stupid box, but it makes a great poster. -

I HEARD THAT!! That Condor is STILL considered copy & paste when I saw that angle, duplicate them to make a squadron and all the marketing team did was adjusting the color settings in Photoshop. LAZY LAZY LAZY! Why can't they draw from scratch like Westwood did with theirs?! OR like those other boxarts that other game companies did with their games?! Is EALA's marketing team & the current C&C utilizes copy & paste on their own boxarts these days?! You're very stingy, EA, very very stingy similar to providing us downloadable goodies for our special edition boxes. What's the matter with you & on the financial tightness, is the recession affecting you big time like Wall Street?! -
I also wonder if Jeremy will look into here as well since I'm more active than the Den these days as due to the trolls & all that many things I want to talk about, I can't flood the Den's comment section with many words from my mouth when they should be in the forums in the first place. But still, I really wish Jeremy put my concerns into considerations.

Whow! Wee_Ooh, you don't expect everyone to go back and play the older games like Tiberian Sun, not everyone are. Your suggestion is true, but it's not always effective. It's just many of us here felt like not moving on just yet.

Speaking of that which I forgot, the game I saw was kind of getting stray far away when they use the bottom bar. If they continue to use the sidebar, it'll keep the game in check as still remain C&C instead of being a regular RTS. Here's how I explain : [# means where C&C4 is now] When bottom bar is used Pure C&C ******#*** Regular RTS (Including the Crawler system) or *******#** When sidebar is used Pure C&C ****#***** Regular RTS In summary, the bottom bar is just getting the original game stray too far away, but only a little bit. The dev team should still keep the sidebar or use the "Best of both worlds" method so that both sidebar & bottom bar lovers will be happy.

It is cool and all, I just hope those marketing teams drew that boxart isn't coming from the dev team's concept art stash or collection. Copy & paste will still NOT be tolerated, especially from me the Westwoodian. EDIT : I'm getting a little suspicious about those GDI Stratofighter jets above the Mastodon. Is that copy & paste?! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!! -
Gameplay wise seems still look it's still in its alpha stage, as though like the baby is still in its mother's womb. So anyway, now I got other concerns and hopefully will look into it. 1. High demand of many numbers of CGIs 2. Special editions which are physical objects, NOT downloadables.
-
My money is on your last paragraph, Nmenth, luckily I kept the spirit, so I'm still ok with the old system, the new Crawler system ain't for me though as I don't feel like moving on just yet as stated by Mal.
-
I know they won't go back to the drawing board, after all like you said, all that hard work suddenly go to the dumpster? Anyway and still, I rather go for the best of both worlds idea so that both parties will be happy, both newcomers & elder hardcore fans.

Malevolence Polls! (Do you like "Tiberian Twilight" as the subtitle?)
Silverthorn replied to Malevolence's topic in Tiberian Twilight
But still, I don't like people say EA is ripping the Twilight name out from their books, ANYBODY can use that twilight word. Let's say EA uses a Star Wars planet name like Coruscant and apply into C&C4, then Lucasfilms will sue them for sure, even if they ask for permission from Lucas himself, Lucas will not give it to EA either. But in this case, twilight is a public word, still, anybody can use it. If I would to write a book title "Master Twilight" which tells a magician who performs magic during sunset just to set the people free from evil tyrants. Will those "Twilight" book lovers or even the author herself come over to my doorstep and sue me? -
Whow, dude! You can't expect to tell people to go back and play older games, some people just don't want to. What Mal trying to say is combine the best of both worlds togetther into the latest games today.
-
I also wonder about that too, will there be certain number of defenses you can build or you want to go all the way to max for the price of not be able to build your superweapon. After all, power plant issue here.

Wow, it hurts when the people raise their hand and say they're not happy with the Crawler system, so it's back to the drawing board?

I also wonder the same thing too, did you read and love the Twilight book series? Think again, that series began in 2005, Tiberian Twilight was created in 1999. We won first, Twilight series lost! -

Ahh, Mirza, you also like the Soldier's Head, I'm begging for that too, but sadly, the devs decide to end this franchise with the smallest puff of wind instead of the biggest bang like the old times. But no, I hate those X designs, especially it's not related to the past boxart designs and as well as the empty black areas, I study design and I criticize nearly everything and will look out for meaningless stuff. And oh well, at least the number 4 is not that bad compare to the number 3. -
Ok, I'll comment on interesting ones. I better hope that is the Firestorm environment. Intel entry is ONLY excuses, and I probably don't like it. But of course, we forgive you. At least you did explain that rocket tank is not the stealth tank before our complaints gets too intense. I sure hope so, bo. It better be promising, I also wish there's some gameplay videos we can see. I hope it'll clear things up and hopefully covers the gaps in Firestorm. And don't forget those deadly Tiberian creatures & the veinhole monster. Are you trying to beat Starcraft 2's game system like the Protoss Colossus tripod, oh wait, that has 4 legs. Sounds reasonable to me, hopefully the graphics better change too, especially it better fit Firestorm style. I better hope it stays promised, gameplay maybe one thing, I also look into the videos & CGIs as well. You may had fail the boxart for my collection, but I'm expecting something promising in order my interest to be kept alive.

Tiberian Twilight Revealed as Command & Conquer 4 Subtitle
Silverthorn replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Ahh, Mal, those Youtube noobs or some part of the community do read that Twilight book series. To me, it's not that very bright compare to Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. But still, Twilight was created in 2005, but Tiberian Twilight is 1999, those idiots just don't do their research of whose name is booked first. -
I also wonder of that too, but seriously, I also forgot to send my question to Koen about this, what kind of Special Editions we're going to get? Forgot to tell him, oh darn it! I hope APOC gets the idea of what we're trying to say, even though I may had dwindle down my interest on the franchise, I would love to see you all get great special edition goodies rather than those worthless & stingy downloadables.
-
Ahh, Wee_Ooh, I hear you, I love slower gameplay like Tiberian Sun was, C&C3 & RA3 were too fast for me and I can't handle them, especially the double cash for Brutal.

I also better go get a pistol and shoot myself in the head, those rickrolls are already old! -
I also hope it promises something to keep the fans happy rather than get them boiled over their rage.

Malevolence Polls! (Do you like "Tiberian Twilight" as the subtitle?)
Silverthorn replied to Malevolence's topic in Tiberian Twilight
Oh wait, now I see where that Twilight vampire name comes from, it's that Twilight movie based on the Stephenie Meyer novel and it was released in 2008. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_%282008_film%29 And another, the Twilight novel series itself, it all began in 2005. Guess what! Tiberian Twilight is reserved in 1999 by Brett Sperry*. You had lost, Youtube noobs, now stop complaining and claim we stole your vampire Twilight name! Just admit it, EA already used that Twilight name for C&C4, what are you going to do, bomb their studio? * Proof or source, http://www.gamespot.com/features/btg-tsun/page12.html EDIT : Oh wait, wrong source of Twilight name collected. -
The vampiric Twilight movie is kind of popular? I don't know, I never heard of that until now. And besides, I'm asking some of you, when did that Twilight movie got its Twilight name and how it becomes so popular? Here's a quote from the Lion at the Den saying when the Tiberian Twilight name was created, and the answer is 1999. To the Youtube noobs out there, that name has been reserved in our minds already, what are you going to do, arm yourself with silver bullets (Oh wait, that's for werewolves) or hammer & nails to kill us? Just let that controversy goes, adding the name Tiberian Twilight name is only meant to be used for subtitle creativity and it has NOTHING to do with that vampire Twilight thingy or person. Anybody can use that twilight name including some authors who made that Twilight name for a romantic series.
