Jerky, blinking, black box around pointer movement

When play CNC General, CNC General Zero Hour, you may experience graphical corruption of your mouse pointer, such as a black box around the pointer, a blinking pointer, jerky pointer movement, or the pointer may not appear at all. And the CPU performance getting sucks.

:block: Here is the solution I found (I found it when I try to play Age of Mythology, the symtomps are same):

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type "dxdiag", and then click OK.

3. Click the Display or Display 1 tab.

4. Under Device, note how much video memory is listed for Approx. Total Memory, and then click Exit.

If you have less than 16 megabytes (MB) of video memory installed on the video adapter get some money and buy the new one :skull: .

My PC specs is : P IV 1.8 , 256 MB RAM, NVidia GeForce2 MX/400 64 Mb, DirectX 9b, Nvidia driver ver: 6.14.10.4523, free space of HDD C and D up to 2GB.

Now... Here is the ROOT CAUSE:

:!: Check whether the NetMeeting is NOT running. Because if somehow the NetMeeting was not properly shut down, it will prevent Direct3D hardware accelleration works OK.

:!: To check it: run "dxdiag", if there is a message "NetMeeting is running. Direct3D hardware accelerator may not work until NetMeeting is shut down", just RUN the NetMeeting again, and after several seconds (may be 10 seconds) click [x] close to close NetMeeting (do not End Task from the Task Manager, it will cause the NetMeeting not properly shut down.)

  After there is no message "NetMeeting is running. Direct3d bla bla bla..." try to start your CNC (dont forget to exit from "dxdiag").
