I have a %100 legitimate, store bought copy of Zero Hour.. when I try and begin installation I get one of those pesky "illegal operation" errors when I try and hit the next button to begin the installation process. Any suggestions?

What are the specs of your system. Let's start out with the basics!

Also, try this link for some specifics regarding Chipsets, CD DMA Access and other pertinent topics:

Yes, you do have Generals installed, working and patched right?

Your system is just above the minimum requirements, try checking out the link I posted. It provides information on specific things like chipsets etc.

I doubt that the hard drive is the issue but if you think so, uninstall Generals, Defrag, Install and Patch Generals then try to install Zero Hour.

If all else fails, give EA Support a call. I've talked to them twice and they try to do a decent job.

One last thing, my Nephew plays RA2 on a W98SE platform and has problems with other garbage tasks running. They get the Blue Screen of Death quite often. Their taskbar almost stretches to the Start Button!

How many items are open in your taskbar? Try shutting some of them down.
