Problems connecting to Generals Online

I’ve had C&C Generals for several months now. Up until last Friday, I haven’t had any connection issues. Last Friday I was playing and my C&C Generals Online game locked up. I rebooted as I have before and when I went to connect, it appeared that it connected for a second then it I received the prompt, “lost connection to generals online”. This has happened every time I have tried to connect. Since then I have went back and forth with EA’s Technical support on their various suggestions regarding turning off my firewall, deleting the options/ini file, closing background programs, deleting temp files, contacting my ISP for possible port issues, veryifying my traceroute pings through the gamespy servers,etc. I’ve tried everything they suggested including reinstalling the game and even trying my brother’s key for troubleshooting purposes with account issues, verifying my IP and that I'm not on a NAT, checking for viruses, etc.

 

Anyway, from what they told me, gamespy runs the servers but when I went to their site, it appears as if they only support the old Generals versions. I went ahead sent a letter to their technical support explaining the situation but they haven’t gotten back to me.

 

Do you have any suggestions?

 

Any and all help would be appreciated, this is really frustrating.

I don't have any other suggestions because it sounds like you have covered just about everything you can possibly do.

 

We have similar thread here http://forums.cncnz.com/viewtopic.php?t=166 from another person having connection issues to, I think he has run out of options to.
