carlmart 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Since I started using my new motherboard, an Assus A7V600-X, I lost all of the voices when playing Generals ZH. I wonder if that is a compatibility problem of the on-board audio CODEC, which is an ADI AD18888, as with other drivers I never had any problem. What can I do about it? It's not a question of driver update, as I did downloaded the last one from Asus site and the problem remains. Carlos Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted September 21, 2004 When you switched to your new motherboard was Windows (apps/games) already installed or did rebuild your system then re-install Windows. If it was the second option I'd re-install Generals and Zero Hour. You could also try updating Direct X. Download and install the latest VIA Chipset drivers if you haven't done so. Generals ZH was reinstalled every time. DirectX had to be updated because Nero 6 demands to. It looks like some sort of driver incompatibility between the game and Soundmax. Soon I will be outputting audio through my Mia soundboard, which is a better quality type, so maybe things get better by then. There seems to be some issue with this Asus board and the 4 in 1 driver too, perhaps the AGP driver, because 2000pro freezes on the first light blue screen when you install it and reboot. And to get back in business you have to re-install the whole program, because you can't desinstall the driver. It's pretty tricky. Though I am not sure if there's any relation between the 4 in 1 driver and Generals ZH. Carlos Share this post Link to post
