Multiplayer map problems

I have downloaded several 8 player 4 player etc maps from this site n others. all have been skirmish maps ie playable for Multiplayer or Skirmish all downloaded to right folder c/my docs/c&cgeneralszerohour/data/maps. they r there. i can play the maps ok in Skirmish mode tab unoffical maps but when we go to play via lan the only unoffical maps available are two player only!

wot gives? arewe doing smething wrong? we have all the udates patches etc all clean installs and the comps involved are well over spec.

Your map files should be copied to C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEMy DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour DataMaps, each map should also be in its own sub folder of the Maps folder.

 

So in a LAN game is the unofficial maps tab/menu unavailable or do the maps simply not show up in the list?

 

I think Generals/Zero Hour is meant to send copies of the maps to the computers that don't have them before starting a game, perhaps you could try putting copies of the maps on each computer in your network then see if you can select them when setting up a new game.

In a LAN game the unofficial maps tab/menu is available and does contain Some maps, But Only the two player ones though :?: None of the other ones 4 player 6 player etc are there. :!:

 

All the other Computors on the network have a copy of all the maps. we all got caught with Map transfer BS in RA2 n Yuri!

Perhaps there are problems with the 4-6 player map files since your 2 player maps work fine. I'm really struggling for an answer to this problem.

I dont think so frankly i wouldnt know but all the maps play ok in skirmish mode agin multi Ai's . Have u played any 4 upwards map via LAN that have worked & if so can I get it as a benchmark so 2 speak?

I haven't played any form of multiplayer Generals or Zero Hour at all. In fact I don't actually play the game at all anymore.

Its kinda boring to me.
