Try this solution taken from EA's Tech Support Site....

Question

The Zero Hour Code has caused an error in unknown. This happens during Installation

Answer

This solution applies to users with ME and 98 operating systems. Do not do this procedure if you are running Windows 2000 or XP.

Make sure that you have closed any programs or tasks running in the background as sometimes one of the programs can conflict with the game. Background applications such as anti-virus programs are often the cause of conflicts. Make sure you disable any anti-virus programs before ending your background tasks as they will remain in memory even after being shut down. To do this, right click on the anti-virus icon in your task bar. Select disable or exit.

Now you can proceed with ending the background tasks. To do this, hold the Ctrl and Alt keys down at the same time and hit the Del key once. This will in turn bring up a window called "close programs". The only two applications that you want listed here before installing the game are "explorer" and "systray". Close all other programs by double-clicking on them. You will need to repeat this process after closing each application. Note that some applications may take multiple times before closing. Don't worry that you are permanently changing your system configuration; these applications will return when you restart your system.

If this fails you can try to uncheck DMA. To do this:

- Right click on MY COMPUTER.

- Click on Device Manager.

- Click on the plus by the CDROM.

- Click on the named CDROM.

- Click on properties.

- If DMA is checked try unchecking it and selecting apply. Under NO circumstances should you check DMA if it is not checked. DMA is "Direct Memory Access". If it is checked we know your CDROM can handle that function. Try to install the game

If your still stuck, search for other possible solutions at EA's Tech Support Site.
