Command and Conquer: First Decade Boot Problem

Recommended Posts

Ok, I just bought CNCFD today, and already have a problem  So, before I get started, here are my system's specs, and the required specs:

Required:

-Windows XP w/Admin rights

-Processor: 800 Mhz+

-RAM: 256 MB

-Disk Drive: 8x or faster DVD-ROM drive

-Hard Drive: 9.8 GB if installing all games

-Video: DirectX 8.1 compatible

-Sound: DirectX 8.1 compatible

-Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 2 or greater, 32 MB+

My Specs:

-Windows XP w/admin rights, sp2

-Processor: 1.8 Ghz AMD Athlon XP 2200+

-RAM: 512 MB SDRAM

-Disc Drive: Nec 48x (read) 16x (write) DVD-R/RW (DL), CD-R/RW Drive

-Hard Drive: 80 GB (40 GB free)

-Video Card: GeForce 6600 GT 256MB

So, the problem is, when I try to run autorun.exe or setup.exe, it just says "autorun/setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"...any suggestions? I've already tried turning off all non-essential processes

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Well, I updated the video drivers and windows XP, so it not that...

however, something interesting: if you copy autorun.exe to the desktop, then it runs, of course it can't find the files then; so it seems it can't read off the dvd drive... :? mabye its something else, so suggestions still needed
