Newbie question about playing with allies.

Recommended Posts

I have a couple questions about transporting allied troops.

First of all, can this be done at all?

Secondly, can the allied troops still shoot out from your hum-vee, helix with bunker, or combat chinook?

I assume that the palyer whose vehicle it is is the one who controls the vehcle while the allied troops are in it and can target and attack as normal as wella s kick them out at will (and they revert to owners controla t that point, right).

Chinese Tank Hunters get a horde bonus in groups of 5 or more, right? OK, so if I have a grooup of 5 Chinese Tank Hunters in a Humvee, do they still get the horde bonus?

Does the horde bonus increase the more units in a group together, for example is it the same bonus if I have 10 guys as it is 5 or is the bonus bigger with the 10 guys?

What can you tell me about specific combinations, what works and what doesn't? For example, Chinese Tank Hunters in a Humvee or US Missle defenders in a Battle Bus, etc. BTW, I have foudn that you can put certain vehicles, even non-US vehicle in the Combat chinook and force fire them on the ground near a target (not directly) and still damage them with area effect weapons. I have tried this with inferno cannons. I am looking forward to trying it with nuke cannons.

BTW, I think that a Combat Chinook with 2 humvees (each full of 5 chinese tank hunters) and another 2 infantry units would just be hell on wheels.

I also very much like the Chinese Infantry Generals Mini-gunners. I like theat they can target both ground and air units and that since they shoot bulletts instead of missles, well you can't spoof or jam bullets.

NO!

NO Allies can only use your baracks/prop towers/airfields/wars to repair/rearm and land

NONONONONONONONONO!!!!

If they had horde bonus when they went in..... they have it while there inside

No its the same no mater what.

wtf? when in hell could you use inferno cannons to fire out of Combat Chinnoks? Also Defenders are better than T-hunters as there rockets track a target longer. but Inf tank hunters are better than missile defenders (tox RPG men are the best when there fully upgraded)

yes.... but only the 2 troopers can fire out.

Im gona check the inferno cannon thing....

That is a bummer because in Yuri's revenge you could at least transport allied troops.

The thing I think makes the chinese tank hunters worthwhile is the horde bonus for rate of fire. I see what you mean about the others though.

IF it is a regular chinook, no one can shoot out, but if it is a combat chinook, botht hte 2 infantry guys not in humvees plus all the guys in the humvees, plus the humvees themselves can all shoot out. Not all units can shoot out from the combat chinooke, this is a especally true with non-us units.

As for the infreno cannon thing, what you do is put an inferno or 2 in a combat chinook together with two US infantry guys (preferably missle defenders, then you force fire on the ground immediately next to the target, as close as possible and the inferno cannons fire and the target gets caught in the blast radius and the potentiall fire storm.

It is clunky and not practical but it can be done.

BTW, anyone else notice the generals special abilities are messed up in the first decade edition?
