A better suggestion, however, is to lengthen the "life time" of a thread (1-2 months? No wonder people write about the forum being dead).

they used to be longer, but people like me used the 4-6 month rule to it's limits (sometimes reasonably, sometimes not). That's why it's only 1-2 months :wink:
