Recommended Posts

My worldbuilder (Zero Hour) keeps crashing left, right and centre! It crashes the most when I try to place objects such as buildings, bridges etc. The error message reads: Worldbuilder has caused an error in MFC42.DLL. is there a way to fix this? Please Someone help!! :(

Are you using the latest version of Direct X and the latest version of your display drivers?

Yes all the latest drivers and direct X are installed. But it still crashes all the time, it makes it impossible to use.

Suppose you don't have any problems playing ZH?

Zero Hour works fine.

So everytime it crashes the error is with the MFC42.DLL file?

If that is the case it sounds your MFC42.DLL file could be damaged, corrupted or out of date. Either way it will need to be replaced with a new version.

Take a look at this handy site http://www.webattack.com/help/missingfiles.html

From here you can search for and download the MFC42.DLL file.

Not sure of the Windows version you have so if your using Windows XP/2000 save this file to your C:WINDOWSsystem32 folder. If your using Windows 98/ME save it to your C:WINDOWSsystem folder.

Just let it overwrite the current version. To be on the safe side, before overwriting it rename the original file to MFC42.old or something similar.

Once that is done fire up the WorldBuilder and see if it fixes the problem.

Well I think the only thing left to try is for you to un-uninstall Zero Hour and then re-install it. This will re-install the ZH WorldBuilder as well.
