RA2 LAN

Hopefully this is the right place for this question; I'm brand new here (although super excited to discover this site - C&C has always been my favorite franchise).

 

I recently talked my brother into getting RA2 so we could play together, and we both got Hamachi working and all is well, except that neither of us can create games in the LAN lobby. If other people in the Hamachi network create a game, we could both join it, but we can't make our own. He just barely purchased his copy from the Origin Store, and I'm running C&C: The First Decade, so it's not a problem unique to either version. And yes, we are both fully patched and updated.

 

I've googled this problem, but only found a few occurences of it, and no resolutions to those I have found. Any ideas?

I actually found this walkthrough very helpful already, but it still hasn't helped with the problem I'm experiencing, unless I missed something. When I click on 'Network' fromt he main menu, I can see the names of players and games on the Hamachi network, but I can't create a new game; the button simply isn't there.

I have already doneall that, and checked and rechecked it.... It doesn't seem to make a difference

Have you deactivated your firewalls?
