The Brotherhood Wallpaper by Kane Nash
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Wow... very, very nice. I'm not usually a fan of these kinds of wallpapers, but this is something else. Great work. -
Really really awesome. Great job Apoc. Though Red Alert is sort of in the Tiberium Universe... but whatever.
-
... or even after YR, before Tib Dawn. The idea of C&C following the events of Yuri's Revenge still make me cringe. How does that make any sense?
-
Just because it would be epic. Fair enough, heheh..

I hope EA sees this comment and makes a cartoony Ren 2 just to spite you. Why exactly?

12th Anniversary C&C Podcast with Joe Kucan Interview
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Definitely one of the best cutscenes in the series. Anyway, great interview. Hilarious as usual. Joe is ace. -
Well, I guess we can assume he was executed by Kane. It would definitely by nice to see this happen at the start of the KW campaign, but I'm not overly bothered. So far the expansion is looking pretty awesome. I'm wondering how many new units/upgrades there will be, especially since they've said they're doing these sub factions as opposed to an entirely new one. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

From the newsletter: So I'm guessing the Tacitus will play a more important role in Kane's Wrath?
-
Well, if it's set after Tiberian Sun, you never know. Besides, I doubt anyone would mind if they retcon some of that intel stuff, especially that bit about hover technology.
-
Oh my.. I'm actually feeling more excited by this than I was for C&C3 prior to it's release. I cant wait. Edit: Those new GDI vehicles look like a mobile variation of the Sonic Emitter base defence. A hover disruptor tank?

Good stuff as always Hypnotist. Had me laughing aloud again.
-
Hahah, so good. The Renegade Intro bit was hilarious.

Vote for the Top 10 Cinematic Moments in Gaming
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I'm surprised they didn't nominate the intro to Red Alert :? Anyway, my vote had to go to Fallout. I was tied between that, Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment. Interplay/Black Isle sure knew how to do good introductions. -
That made like no sense to me at all..... who and what site? Ah, you don't speak typo eh? Luckily, I'm fluent in it.

Command & Conquer 3 Patch v1.03 Released
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Hmm, cant seem to connect at all after installing this patch. Others have reported the same problem as well, I believe. -
So much for 'new information' then. Oh well.
-
Yup, and now we have confirmation of the third faction's name, which is indeed, 'Scrin'.

CNCNZ.com Podcast #6 - C&C 3 Details Edition
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Protecting monuments... *sigh* Nice podcast though, I very much enjoyed listening to it. -
Don't they mean minerals?

C&C3 Decision Time: Kane Edition or Standard Edition
-NickoheaD- replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Cant find a store that has the Kane Edition up for pre-order over here in the UK yet. It's a shame, because I'd really love to get hold of it. -
Hey, nice update there. Also, Tesla7zap over at the official boards has posted a few points from the latest PCGamer (Sweden). Here's a link to the thread. The menu music is the same as in the first game. (Don't know if they just put it there as a placeholder until they make new music for it) [*]Kane has a special agenda with the Aliens. [*]The Aliens has less units but you can use them in more ways. [*]Aliens have the same esthetic design like the ship in Tiberian Sun, with blue- purplish neon-looking lightsources. [*]The Juggernaught can be used in both normal close combat and with the the watching eye from a sniper, you will be able to use it as an artillery. [*]Rumours say that one mission will take place in London which is attacked by the Aliens [*]A lot of things of the game feels familiar and they have managed to return the atmosphere from the older games. The person who wrote the article has returned to play Tiberian Sun again. [*]They will have a review of the game in a month or two.

But surely they will make reference to the ending of Firestorm? They cant let such a cliffhanger go completely unanswered. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Rather pointless, really. Every gaming community like this, (i.e. hyping a long-awaited game in an old franchise) is exactly the same, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. People have vastly different opinions, and these opinions (more often than not) conflict with one another. Trust me, there's nothing specifically wrong with the current C&C community. It's just the way things are. And there are reasons for people disliking EA, and it's not just because they closed down Westwood Studios. That's not to say, however, that bashing every piece of information released just because it's EA's work, is the right thing to do. Myself? I'm going to give them this chance to prove to me that they can create a damn good game.
-
Damn, I much prefer the look of that to the standard edition. I wonder whether or not they'll be supplying it over here in the UK.
-
I wonder though, this 'Pre-Order' package will be shipping with the game, no? Doesn't that make half the features included on it totally redundant?
