Transformers were cool. Not that new crap Transformers Armada cartoon they have now. The original series leading up to the movie was best. I read somewhere that the Transformers movie was called one the best animated feature flims of all time.

For my own personal taste I like to hear rock music from any era. The song that comes to mind is Paint it Black, it was used as the theme to an old TV show called Tour of Duty. First question, is this the C&C95 (sometimes called C&C Gold) version or the original DOS version? If you have the DOS version and your trying run it under Win XP its no use, it won't work. That's rubbish, the more Ram the better, no matter what type your system uses. Who ever told you that should be slapped :roll: I agree with chickendippers, formatting and re-installing Windows sounds like the best option.

You will need to get some web space from somewhere. Do a Google search for free file hosting services. Check with your ISP, most of them offer their customers a few megabytes to upload files or their sites. Once you get the files online somewhere simple post the links the files so people can download them. You can't attach (upload) files to posts on our forums. Its an unsupported feature sorry. I don't accept replays to posted on CNCNZ.com. I know Lion at the CNC Den does though.

All the patches for Renegade Alert are important. They must be installed in the correct order to work. With RenAlert v0.991 installed download install the patches in this order... v0.9915 >> v0.992 >> v0.9925b. You can't just install v0.9925b and think your up to date.

Have some faith Rogue Leader, I think we are going to get another C&C game from an unlikely source :wink: As for the current state of game development the thing that concerns me is the lack of originality theses days. I'm looking forward to huge releases such Half Life 2, Halo 2 and Doom 3 like everyone else but where are the new surprise titles?....the only one that comes to mind is FarCry. It got no hype, no big build up, it just showed up and became a hit. Because of that we will probably see FarCry 2 next year. See the trend? I've always been highly critical towards id software ever since they announced Doom 3, I mean talking about beat a dead horse. Surely they could have come up with a better game for their new engine than Doom 3? Doom 3 looks great but come on the storyline is rubbish, blasting monsters on Mars that frighten you. Everyone will wizz through the short single player game that Doom 3 will have and play multiplayer anyway. Once they are done with Doom 3 they are making Quake 4 :roll: All they have done in 10 years is give gamers the Doom series and Quake series.

So if the original C&C was remade using Generals' SAGE engine you wouldn't want to play it? I know I would, it would be great!

Does this happen when you try to install Renegade Alert?

I don't find it frustrating, I find it strange why people register and never post. Why register on someones forums and never post? Whats wrong with just jumping in and start posting?

Hi bladerunner229, welcome to our forums. We allow all new registered users to post a greeting to get started. Its also good to see some one register and actually post :shock: I like to think we are laid back bunch here but our admins/mods will crack down on stuff if things get to crazy.

Downloading it from CNC World or CNCNZ.com means your downloading the same file from the same location on the same server.....confused :lol: For many of our larger downloads like RenAlert CNC World and CNCNZ.com have friendly partnership because we are both on the gP server and there no point in us both uploading 2 copies of the same files to our server. If I had a fast connection I would download the RenAlert installer from our server and test it as well but I'm 56k dial up here. BigPoppaBear, if you go to http://www.renalert.com you will find a list other mirrors to down the RenAlert installer from. chickendippers, maybe we need to re-check our versions of the RenAlert installer and Reborn?

I see that [WOLSpy] in some of the server names on GSA.

I would say theis DAT file can only be used by the game it belongs to. Search your own hard drive and you will find lots of .dat files but you can't do anything with them, they linked to the programs the create them.

Renegade Alert discussion goes in the C&C Renegade forum :wink: From what I've heard the RenAlert team are looking to release the big .933 update (subs included) in early July.

If they are GSA servers I'll be around from time to time. No can do with the WOL servers though.

Tell us what error messages you get, if possible post a screen shot of these errors. Have you had these problems before?

I finally got around to installing GameSpy Arcade and then updating it..... I can play Renegade online again I played a couple of games last night.... I sucked, I was so out if practise, it happens when you haven't played in 3 months I guess. It was good to play again though. If your on the GameSpy server look for me under the name SonicNZ2. Hopefully one day I can get back on to WOL.

The DAT file in question..... what is it from, where did you get it?
