I've been testing various colour schemes once again and I think I've come up with something. After much thought I've decided to go with new colours rather than make a new layout with current blue scheme. Anway here is test preview image...... As you can see the colour scheme is going to be purple based. Keep in mind that the JPG image doesn't do it any justice, trust me, the colours look better in a browser. Even though I said that these colours are Finalised it doesn't mean things won't change, I'm my own worst critic so you should expect changes or something different So what are your thoughts? Could you live with these colours, are they to dark?

I don't want to set a date so it will be ready when its done. Who knows, you could the new look site by this weekend

Yeah when I feel its ready, which will probably be when its 100% done.

But you can't play Renegade on that, its for RA2/YR.

I'm basically set with the new colours. I've been up all night making images and coding bits of the new layout. I may or may not post a preview....I really should wait until I finish it :wink:

Try deleting the My DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour DataReplays folder then start Zero Hour and play a skirmish game. The Replays folder will be recreated.

So you don't want to see some hot pink used in the next layout then :lol: Seriously though, I've made real progress with the new layout. I've gone back to an older layout and re-used some ideas because I want bring back a feature I liked so much, more details on that later. The CNCNZ.com logo text you can see in the test image has been changed. I found a better a font and it comes up great There will actually be many new logos, they will randomly change each time you visit or when you go to another page. Each C&C game released to date will represented in these new logos. When it comes time to change the colours for the forums you will still have the option of using the current blue theme because I will be keeping it not replacing it.

You should probably adjust the contrast and brightness of your monitor

Well its not the final logo. Its only a test to see the how the colours look. The thing is I want the text to have the metalic look and using a sliver gradient is the way to achieve this. It should look better when the text is larger.

Create a Tiberian Sun shortcut on your desktop if you don't already have one. Now what you have to do is right click on your Tiberian Sun shortcut and select Properties. Go to the Compatibilty tab. Check the box that says Run this program in compatibilty mode for: Choose Windows 98/Windows ME from the drop down list. If that doesn't work try Windows 95 mode. You will always have to start the game from your Tiberian Sun shortcut on your desktop.

I'm sure most people here will agree that Generals is Command & Conquer in name only. And so there no confusion I'm renaming this topic and the poll.

I did a bit of searching around with Google but didn't find that much. I did find some stuff talking about a similar problem mention by other people on other forums. It appears that the problem is with the Radeon 8500 to 9200 series of ATI card using Direct 9.0. People using that range of older cards reported that using the Catalyst 3.7 drivers improved their game.

Re-install Generals. This will also re-install the Worldbuilder and fix any problems.
