  4. Like Melshimber I like using China's Helix
  5. The problem is your current video card. The ProSavageDDR is an aboard video card, its not a proper 3D accelerator. The ProSavageDDR doesn't enough grunt to run a game like Generals. This is the list of un-supported video cards or video chipsets that can't run Generals....your is in bold orange text. 3dfx chipsets [*]Nvidia TNT2 [*]ATI Radeon Mobility [*]ATI Radeon 7200 [*]ATI Rage 128 [*]ATI IIC AGP [*]S3 ProSavage [*]S3 Graphics Twister [*]SiS650 Integrated VGA chipsets [*]Trident Blade 3D [*]Vivid XS [*]VIA Tech graphics controllers [*]Quadro4 [*]Leadtek Winfast GeForce 2 GTA [*]SiS Xabre [*]Gainward Xabre [*]Intel Extreme Graphics2 82865/G Your only solution is buy a new video card, but before do that you must check that your motherboard has an AGP expansion slot. Check your motherboard manual if you have that or just pop your case off and have a look.
  6. I sounds like a driver issue. Like I said before, go and download the latest drivers for your video card from http://www.cncnz.com/files/support/drivers.shtml

    ra2 high ping

    Need more details.
  8. Your system is just over the minimum required system specifications to run Generals so you will need tweak your settings in the game. Also make sure that your display drivers and Direct X are up to date. You can download the latest Nvidia display drivers and Direct X from this page on our site, http://www.cncnz.com/files/support/drivers.shtml
  9. Yeah Tom whoever told that shellmaps in Generals don't work on AMD CPUs is full of crap  I have an AMD CPU and they work fine. As for yours not working. How do you start Generals? Do you use the CD's autoplay menu or a shortcut on your desktop. If your using the shortcut something tells me that you shortcut could have been modified to this.... Have a look at your Generals deskstop shortcut (and start menu shortcut) by right clicking on your Command & Conquer Generals desktop shortcut icon then select Properties, click on the shortcut tab and removed the -noshellmap -nologo text from the command in the target box. You should be left with something like C:Program FilesEA GamesCommand and Conquer Generalsgenerals.exe.

    C&C95 not working

Sounds like your installation of Windows 98 is struggling, I would back up your important data, format your hard drive and start again with a clean install of Windows 98. Do any other games cause you problems on your system?

    Rugby World Cup

I don't watch the game, I saw result on the news. If the All Blacks had made the final I probably would have watched it though.

    Call of Duty

Yeah single player in Call of Duty is short, I've played through a bit more and now I take back what it said about it being better than Medal of Honor, I would say they both on par with each other. As for Halo, its really over hyped I think, the storyline is cool, and the Master Chief (your character) is cool to but the gameplay gets repetitive sometimes, but if your looking for fun single player game Halo is highly playable. Read the Halo thread for some of my other comments about it.... http://forums.cncnz.com/viewtopic.php?t=347 For the record, neither Call of Duty or Halo are bad games. The would be two of the better FPS game released this year. Next on my gaming hit list is Max Payne 2 and Stacey Jones Rugby League. You guys overseas won't know anything about the Rugby League game though

    Rugby World Cup

    Profanity Filter Poll

If I'm going online I don't want to see foul language so I would leave it as s, plus I'm not interested in changing or removing the games files. If its installed with Generals that where it stays until I decide to un-install Generals. Speaking of profanity filters, we have one for these forums that can't be deleted
  16. I would say you need updated display drivers for your video card? Please post you system specs.
  17. What directory did you install Red Alert 2 under? It should be in the default directory of WestwoodRA2. I'm guessing the Yuri's Revengade set up can't find RA2 if you have it in another directory other than the default one.

    C&C: World War 3

Well the link works for me but you need to be an MSN member to get it.
  19. A high ping in Generals Online can be caused by a few factors such as your connection, your ISP, a firewall on your PC or your simply to far away from the game server. I've heard of reports about some high ping bug in Generals and when people try to play regardless of the pings it plays fine anyway.

    can't play generals online

Un-install Generals, make sure the game directory is had been deleted as well. Then re-install Generals, get the v1.7 patch and install that.

    Art of Defense Maps

Yes, just as the readme file for Zero Hour says.....
  24. Try this solution taken from EA's Tech Support Site.... If your still stuck, search for other possible solutions at EA's Tech Support Site.
  25. I don't think having an SATA hard drive would make any difference. Unless you can test it on another PC with an SATA hard drive. What things did EA Tech Support ask you to try? Have a look at http://free.hostdepartment.com/s/skyhigh911/generals.html#2) under the Installation section and try the solutions there. Good site that so check the rest of it. Do you have VIA Chipset on your motherboard? If so, if you haven't already get the latest Hyperion 4in1 Drivers from http://www.cncnz.com/files/support/drivers.shtml#via
