I think thats caused by over-heating. Give your PC's case a good blow out to clear out all the dust etc....

Its easy to get online and play Generals. First make sure your connected to the Internet. Then start Generals. Once the game has loaded simply click on Multiplayer, then Generals Onine. You will need to set up and account before you can play though.

Yes, you're right, I've done this too. But I deleted the files after I found that the game still works. Saves 53 MB of disk space. In these modern days of 40GB, 60GB, 80GB and 100+GB hard drives is a measly 53 MB really a waste of disk space :wink: I just let the intros the play, I don't find it that hard to hit the ESC key to cancel them. Plus I think the Zero Hour intro is rather cool

I don't actually remember posting instructions for easier quoting before I'm afraid But if you want to do quote and multi-quote in a post you will have click the reply quote icon then break up the text your quoting by adding the neccessary BBCode quote tags.

Shocking news if you ask me. At first I thought it was joke but after reading that they had 2300 users on all at once on the Halflife2.net forums it made it very real. Why would people want to steal the source the code? Can anything be done with it? Can people actually make the game work with stolen code?

The C&C community is always changing so it would have be hard to get everyone's name. I think he updates it from time to time.

In Generals you could add -noshellmap -nologo to your desktop shortcut to skip the loading intros and disable the animated shell map behind the menues. See the screen shot below. However, people have tried using this in Zero Hour and it doesn't seem to work. Sorry Osey I had to take the map down because of this e-mail I got about it.

I like the urban environments, but maps with a tropical setting are cool to.

If you could some how manage to get the camera to go down that low it would look strange, You would need to see the sky in the background to, and the SAGE engine doesn't have that for ingame views I think....only the cinematics.

Are you running the latest drivers for your video card? If not get the latest version and install them. Also check that your installation of Direct X is up to date. Generals and Zero Hour requires Direct X 8.1 at a minimum. The latest version of Direct X is 9.0b.

What game? System specs will help to :wink:

At this early stage its the USA for me, I've only played the first 2 USA missions and 1 skirmish game. Haven't had the time play it much.

No problems for me and I'm NZ, perhaps a re-install of Generals and then try installing Zero Hour may help.

Buy Zero Hour and the game work will perfectly. You won't get any solution to your problem from these forums if your downloading it from some warez site :roll:

It should be released in most countries during the week of 22nd September to 29 September.

Have a look in your My DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Data folder, inside here you should a file called Options.ini. Open this file a text editor and search for the line..... Resolution = 1024 768 It will have your current Generals resolution set here. In my case I'm running Generals at 1024 x 768. Change this line to your desired resolution. Save the file and restart Generals. If you have Zero Hour installed you will have to repeat this same process for the Options.ini file in the My DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data folder. Zero Hour uses it's own options and settings. Warning: Setting your resoultion to something that Generals doesn't officially support can be nasty and cause undesired side effects. So becareful :wink:
