When TibEd wants to edit a file, it will retrieve the file from the game. But on your machine, it cannot read the file. So, when you start TibEd 2, can you tell me which game folder it specifies in the opening window? It is the window where you get to select the game to edit. I suspect this folder might be incorrect.

OK, so something fishy is happening then. I want to find a common pattern: - are you guys all using Vista? - what brand of anti-virus software do you use? Can you tell me in which "phase" of building the mod it takes a very long time? You should get an output window, showing some output. I'm interested in which bits it reads before it starts "hanging". It could be the unpacking of files, or it could be the Mod SDK itself.

You could consider making one unit extremely overpowered - preferably one the AI doesn't use very often. As long as you build more of those than the AI, you can still "cheat" a little bit. Good luck

The problem is that you've made part of the XML invalid. Specifically, on line 867, so you could go there with your text editing window. I can spot a missing closing > (I highlighted it for you): That should fix it.

Good point. Real life kind of took over after Christmas. It does allow me to go visit Barcelona and Alaska later this year, because I got papers accepted at those conferences. I will have to get back to you... I should get a laptop so I have a portable development system.

Well, if you put them in the file bag, then the files will become part of your mod (TibEd will make a MIX file for you). So it should work... but it is indeed an 'advanced' topic.

Tibed 2 and C&C Generals (First Decade)
Koen replied to }}E-F{{*GEN*Ronin's topic in TibEd Technical Support
TibEd 2 can edit: - original C&C Generals, original Zero Hour - The First Decade Zero Hour The following is buggy: - The First Decade Generals does not accept mods, unless you install the illegal NoCD of the original Generals -
TibEd 2 can edit the Generals series of games. Maybe I should clear up the confusion of TibEd 1.x and TibEd 2... Now how would I do that

Good point by HeXetic... I'd rather see C&C3 for the DS, than for a mobile phone. I mean, who owns such capable phones anyway? Probably millions, but not me. But I do have a DS gathering some dust right now.

Is there some way to add 'extra' information to the bugs? For example, the bug that a harvester filled with blue tiberium will spawn normal green tiberium when killed will never get fixed. This is a WONTFIX IMHO because it does not affect gameplay; it is a rather cosmetic bug.

I use the RSS feed. And then I click on the link at the bottom of it to see it 'on the site' (e.g. read the comments). But that puts you directly in the forum... could also be a link to the post on the frontpage?

This is the GUI - which isn't working in beta 5e. I was supposed to deactivate it before release, but forgot. I was still thinking that a GUI-version would follow within one or two weeks - where did all that time go?

Indoor missions How could I forget They were brilliant - take a step a little to far, and you're toast

We're a Command & Conquer forum. We're always at war. Or are you talking about this "in real life" concept I keep hearing about?
-
RA2 had co-op skirmish. It was quite a lot of fun.

I can only second that. A unit who goes into panic mode when shot at! It's epic. :cnc10:

I think the initial game won't have subfactions, just the 3 sides. Then, in an expansion... Remeber Zero Hour & upcoming Kane's Wrath?
-
Why, cool. And if SAGE doesn't handle Naval combat well: last time there were real boats were in Generals: Zero Hour. It's 4-5 years later now, you'd think they could develop it a little bit further in that time Red Alert is not complete without submarines and naval battles

The rumors about the upcoming Valentine's day announcement on the official Command & Conquer website, supposedly the announcement of Red Alert 3, are not rumors anymore. When contacted by Dutch website Tweakers.net, Electronic Arts has confirmed that the theme of this announcement will be Red Alert 3. A Dutch quote from the original article: The literal translation would be: The April issue of PCGamer is expected to carry additional details:

It's not that bad Saracen. You know yourself that EALA has two teams of RTS developers. One working on C&C3 right now, while the other team probably has been working on RA3 since Battle for Middle Earth 2: Rise of the Witch King (released December 2006). It takes them 2 years to make a RTS, so it will be done in December 2008. So maybe it will be released together with Tiberium, or one of them will be postponed until February 2009. Either way, the game will be released at least 18 months after C&C3. Just 6 months after an expasion, perhaps, but hey - that's just a timing thing.

Maybe a 5* General? Though that doesn't really fit the time. It seems I still have to double up before I'm a General... might take me another 5 years

Ah, you were targetting a different game version. Hmm, not sure if I should warn about that, or check the game version. TibEd can only work on a single game version (1.9), due to the dependency on the Mod SDK. I guess I could introduce a check to see if at least v1.9 is installed...

I've gotten a few games of of GamersGate recently. It's an OK system for game distribution, just login to your account and download the game; it's OK to install it on 2-3 machines as well. So all my machines can get a copy - without requiring a disc in the drive

He's done a lot of work on the skin.

Which version did you use? 1.01 or 1.05? I've only played v1.05, and am quite fond of it. But I've been told that 1.01 was unplayable. So my guess would be that you've been treated to the original release version. More high hopes of Saracen for a game dashed into the ground . On the other hand, my hopes for Universe at War were seriously hurt by the beta. And then the demo... which was a step back even from the beta. The beta doesn't have to be perfect, and was OK for a beta. But releasing a demo in that state... I won't buy a game like that. Much less wait for a January release in Europe...
