Some stats on the C&C3 Mod SDK
Koen replied to Koen's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath Maps & Modding
There is a sample mod included with the Mod SDK. This contains an elven unit. The numbers above are statistics about the XML files found in the Mod SDK. -
By the way, you are not the only one having these errors... unless you are the same person who e-mailed me.

Some stats on the C&C3 Mod SDK
Koen replied to Koen's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath Maps & Modding
Excluding the SampleMod, the stats are these: contains 72 assets types and 8502 assets. Not sure where those 10 Asset Types went... I think they are like AptGeometryData (the updated menu art), which by default is not in the CNC3XML folder. -
I cannot see the whole output of the BuildMod.bat... especially where the error occured (which is a few more lines up).

EA FTP uses Akamai load-balancing servers. So in some parts of the world the servers might be overloaded, while in other parts the server is idle. And you get connected to a server based on geographic location.

The Mod SDK looks very solid - technically. Everything is in there; I think you can mod almost everything. Only drawback I see right now is that there are all sorts of dependencies on other software - but that cannot be helped.

I've switched from Blue to BlueRes 8)

I have made a second part of this thread. This allowed me to include a poll on which game to support.

Please read all posts in this thread for most up-to-date information Current TibEd versions I've been really preoccupied with my MSc thesis since April 2006. It needs to be finished within two weeks from now. I've compiled a list of things that should be fixed/added in TibEd, but I cannot tell when and if it will be done. You will find the list below. Future editors? I say however, that creating new editors is not a priority. The Star Wars: Empire at War editor was worked on for just a short while and was nowhere near completion. I've never actually had any requests/e-mails about when this editor would be ready. I'm hesitant to work further on it, so it is now officially on hold/no public version available. Next month we will see the release of C&C3. Unfortunately, it appears that it still uses the SAGE engine. The Generals INI files are messy (one of the reasons TibEd 2 is still lagging behind TibEd 1, a lot of time was wasted supporting these INI files properly). LotR: Battle for Middle Earth was worse, with the editor for that game being cancelled after 1 public release (beta 3). Following that editor, I rewrote the whole backend of TibEd 2, which is beta 4 as we now know it. Beta 4 has potential for the future. But I never dared look at BFME2's INI files, and I expect C&C3 to be even more complicated. I wouldn't be surprised if INI.BIG there was 50MB. If the complexity is too high, I will not make TibEd 2 edit that chaos. Period. I will start my PhD on March 1st. That means I will not have time to make a very complex editor for C&C3 - or perhaps even none at all. So please, everyone, do not expect anything. I can only be bribed by receiving an invite to the C&C community summit  Bug list This is a list of current feature request/known bugs: - Generals Mod Selector: Allow version ignoring in TibEd 2/GMS - Generals: Add OCL editor (cannot confirm that this is possible!) - Dune 2000: On Feb 27, 2004 Jorge left a post on TibEd Technical Support forum about unknown bytes for dune2000. Perhaps update TibEd 1.x? (cannot confirm if this will happen!) Done: TibEd 1.x: Yuri's Revenge manual editor for Generals section works (released in v1.63)

Key deletion is now supported in beta 4b.

The current TibEd 2 version! You can download it from http://www.tibed.net/download?tibed2 . Or just go to http://www.tibed.net and follow the links. What's new in beta 4: - The First Decade support - files are now imported on demand (when you change them) instead of importing them right away - project can be started from a BIG file (to import an existing mod) - comments in INI files are preserved - BfME editor removed (will not return) - many bugfixes - overall a very big rewrite, but all functions from beta 3 should have been implemented again - Generals Mod Selector now remembers custom game folders
-
There were only 5 music tracks in C&C3? I didn't really notice... though in other C&C games the music was very noticable so it is a bit different.
-
I'll look into these two feature requests; with key removal the top priority one.
-
Cannot reproduce. Can you give more detailled steps, if you still remember? Possibly, this bug has been fixed as a side-effect of fixing the unpacking bug.
-
Fixed in development version.
-
This one has been found and will be fixed in the next release.
-
The beta version has been updated to build 157. Changes: - includes help tooltips for C&C95 editor - the "Sort list" option is retained between TibEd sessions - you can now press "Enter" to select the game/editor at TibEd startup - several minor updates to C&C95 editor per suggestion of Nyerguds --edit-- Updated to final release (build 158)

Missing OCL editor in Tibed Beta 4a build 100
Koen replied to 43de's topic in TibEd Technical Support
Let me rephrase. This functionality was not included in the major beta 3 -> beta 4 transition. -
TibEd 2 has received some attention and I've just found a major bug. If you edit the same key twice without switching to another section, TibEd will experience an uncaught exception upon second edit. This will be fixed in beta 4b, which I will release soon.

Command & Conquer TV - BattleCast Primetime Debuts
Koen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I had a hard time following the match - they skimmed over it in 30 seconds, and then started giving feedback. -
Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath Expansion Announced
Koen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Heh, it will be like a prequel and a sequel. That's going to be complex, story-wise. -

You're forgetting SunAge. Btw, their new website should be up soon. It's going to look loads better than this one. -
A complete lack of accurate knowledge on my part. That's what I get for not being American   off-topic: Jay! Post 1111 on August 11th!
