why? in all honesty what is the big issue there? because it's artificial? got news for you, there are already testtube babies out there. there is really no difference between them besides the fact it's two of one gender making a baby. i can't see any downsides behind it. any evil intent behind two people of the same gender having a baby could be applied to people of opposite gender. i mean it's not like rape is it? it's not like some guy is gonna run up to you in the street, give you some of his sperm and force you to pay however many thousands to make him a baby. the only people who are going to use this tactic are people who desperately want a baby. personally i think it's far kinder then the alternative. the alternative? basically one of the partners going out and getting "parts" from an outside person of the opposite gender (either in sperm donation or as a surrogate mother) and if they don't have the money to pay for it, the low tech option of actually doing it with someone of the opposite gender. which for most homosexuals would be uncomfortable at best, and outright traumatising at worst. not to mention the fact that the DNA would only be from ONE of the partners... whatever happens in this situation, someone is going to be hurt and know deep down that they are in no way related to the child. with these new scientific methods, it can make dreams come true for many homosexual couples out there. something that at this stage, many cannot even imagine would be possible. do you really want to take a gift this powerful away from someone who can otherwise not experience the same thing as you and your girlfriend? now if it were cloning i could understand. cloning has some every powerful repercussions and could result in bad things (cloning current dictators to give them an endless supply of duplicates incase of assassination... then there is always the possibility of a large army wearing fancy plastic uniforms. but that would never happen...) but there are not really any downsides to same-sex birthing... only ethical complaints because of religion and such. so long as they perfect the science before putting it out for the public (or at least work out everything they possibly can. no doubt there will always be a problem, but as long as they sort it out as quickly as possible with as few deaths as possible...) i mean really the only big issue with it is that until the science is near-perfected there will be accidents and such... maybe new diseases or illnesses caused by the procedure which the scientists didn't spot. in a worst case scenario it could be a problem that develops later in life and hundreds or thousands of people get children before it's discovered. but whatever the cost, in the long run it would be worth it. it's another method of creation and it would make a large percentage of the world's population happy. let's look about it from that method - say somewhere along the lines the world ends up with a "children of men" scenario, where women can't get pregnant. we would NEED same-sex and lab babies to continue the species (and hopefully produce women that can birth...) i'm sure there must be another downside to it, but i can't think of it. i'd happily like to hear your opinions why you feel it's a bad idea...

XD i was just sitting there naming off films xD; that is definately right up there with the infamous febreze "does your house smell like FISH?" *little girl: "wut? o.o why's everyone looking at me?"* advert xD i mean is the fish comment really necessary in smell-destroying adverts? when it comes to odors in the house the ones i've noticed as being common are pet odors (including used pet trays...), rubbish (normally in your main bin in black bags before you've taken it outside. i dunno how it works in america, but in our household we pretty much empty everything in a black bag and store it in the kitchen until it's collection day x3), and any other smells that might be around such as smelly shoes or cigerette smoke (the latter not in our house, but that is definately a common odor) and for less common households, the smell of weed in the air xD (once again, not in my house) so why do they always do the fish smell thing? i mean surely there is another strong food substance that is commonplace that would stand out too? xD;

pish. it benefits everyone WHO ISN'T TRYING TO BLOW UP THE PLANE OR STAB EVERYONE ONBOARD xD the only hastle it is to us normal people us that we have to put our keys and belts in a little dish and put our bags through the x-ray. and get dragged away by plain clothes staff if you are looking paranoid or showing signs of nervousness... but yah. i'd probably get talked to at least once xD crowds make me jumpy. so does the fact that there are so many things that have to be sorted out and i don't understand any of it, so i worry that something has been forgotten or is going wrong x3;; but in comparison to airports, high security on the mainland would be a lot worse. pretty much -any- hands on trade will have to go through countless security screens at every level, from big corporations to scared old ladies o.o; which would waste everyone's time and raise costs because not as much would be getting done in a day. and if everyone is getting checked out, a LOT of people that had entered the country illegally would be caught and sent away... if all the mexicans and foreigners got kicked out, who would do the low level jobs, ranging from the bin men to housemaid services. i'm sure there would be a lot of willing americans happy to have the job (which in a somewhat jobless market would be a bonus) but i honestly can't see it doing much good for public relations and the common viewpoint on foreigners. the less of them you see, the more you believe urban legends and the more you don't WANT to see them. really bad vicious cycle... now i know you're all gonna say "i wouldn't do that" and rant at me, but when i say things like that i'm normally speaking about the general majority of the populous. the ones with bellow average IQ's... the allied eva in RA3 drove me abso-friggin-lutely nuts. she is so prep it makes me wanna try. whilst i was playing co-op with a friend, i was on skype with him the whole time. so instead of only chatting in-game by pressing a key, we were constantly yakking through game, loading screens, menus and videos. after the first few seconds of seeing preppy-eva on screen, we were both in full-on rant mode... in one of the missions (i'm guessing the russian) i remember her yelling at us and saying something along the lines of "well like, yah. whatever! i can like, totally defeat you! next time!" and we just doubled over crying tears of laughter and pain... none of the females in this game really drew me in with their acting. i mean yes, they did have some level of personality behind the characters... but they just weren't really like... kinda boring... i can't even remember anything that "tanya" said the whole game. in all honesty the only characters i can really remember in the whole game are tim curry, george takei, the japanese prince, the president, the british commander guy (cos he reminded me of my grandpa or something x3; ) and the crazy scientist (because i've seen another movie with either him or a guy exactly like him in it playing a crazy scientist o.O) all i know is right now takei is having a VERY high rate of popularity (in the uk anyway) what with RA3 and him being in "i'm a celebrity, get me out of here" which is currently on about day 18. he almost got voted out last night (luckily the other guy went - brian. he's was the (gay) chief of the metropolitan police and he ran for london mayor. he went on the show cos he's so used to doing serious jobs and talking about depressing things so he wanted something "trivial" which led to and & dec complaining that this "trivial" show was their jobs... XD) but yah, takei hasn't really been doing too much so far. he's done a bushtucker trial (he had to go in an ostrich pen and move stars around a little bar to get them out. did it with someone else) aaand a couple of mini "immunity" trials at the start... (him and two others had to basically hold a metal loop over a bar. if it touched the bar, it bleeped loudly and a light went out. 3 lights out = bye bye. he was the first out of that. probably would have been easier but random noises were being played and they were trying to taunt eachother xD) but considering he is -71- he's doing very well. he really doesn't look it. nice dark black hair on his head (even if it's thinning a little x3; ) and he's in GREAT shape. and he's also learnt a common cockeny rude playground song from joe swash, and loves it to death. which means he's now going to be remembered by the british youth as "that asian guy with a funny accent who sang olly olly olly" XD i think he's gonna be going out tomorrow. so baw ; - ;

note; for the lazy readers there is a quick sum-up at the bottom. feel free to ignore my ramblings x3 i notice DD has resorted to his insulting opponents stage xD; but yah chrono, you're siding with the couple too much. did they deserve to sue? yes. to some extent. THEY put the pictures on the phone and THEY left it there. but someone in that store between it being left and between it being picked up stole the photos and put it online. it happened in the store, therefore the store has some responsibility to it, mainly because they said they would look after the phone until it was picked up. but they had no right to sue for that level of money. you said it yourself, that's "how you play the game". let's face it, that isn't worthy of the emotional trauma. that is simply greed. trying to get as much as possible out of them. if they had told McD's they were going to sue for $3m then taken them to court, and halfway through McD's had privately talked to the couple and offered them $2.5m to drop the case and not press further charges, do you not think it would have been a smart thing to do? the couple has still made a heck of a profit. enough to move away from the town and get a bigass house... if they had settled out of court before/quickly enough so it didn't get mass-media attention, no-one would know about this either... therefore the couple WOULDN'T have this character damage which is -now- going to stay with them the rest of their lives. (a whole $8 - $10 depending on currency fluctuation! =O) so yah... to sum it up, the couple was greedy and could have got an insanely high amount of money slightly LESS then in court if they had just settled with McD's privately. they could have avoided the public scandal. therefore sympathy for couple = zero.

hmm. oh fine i can look into it. as it is because of mom's money situation and the fact i've passed my 21st this year is gonna be much cheaper present wise. and seriously so by the sounds of it. previous birthday/christmases have resulted in me getting a good £300 or more in presents and money... this year she asked me what i wanted, i showed her a bigass pc case to start off my upgrading. cost maybe £60 or £70 and she said it was too much... so yah, that's depressing. i'm thinking of asking her for some b-movies i want. i'm not sure what to get though... i want creature features and like, giant bug flicks of old... i definately want Them! (the black and white one with the giant ants resulting in the army going into the sewers. cos that movie was just epic. that's the movie that the ant missions in red alert came from xD) there are a few others. tarantula was alright. started off great but it was like they ran out of funding or something. the "final fight" was VERY quick. i mean everything was just taking off with the police shooting at it then fleeing... then all of a sudden jet fighters come down and napalm the critter. really quick "wth?" style end. the giant gila monster was good, and gets a very high notorious status because of the mushroom song (google it. i DARE YOU to watch to the end of it. make sure you watch the clip from the movie. the start of the movie has the little girl with the crutches and the unibrow xD it's so sickeningly sweet, that alone should give you a standard as to how the song is gonna be...) i'm not sure what other movies to have though. behemoth the sea monster was good (gotta love the era weaponary xD) aaaand it came from beneath the sea, and the beast from 20,000 fathoms. those three were epic too. ray harryhausen <3 anyway. so yah, cheap birthday/xmas this year so i might not be able to get it as a gift and i'm working on computer upgrades with my own money ;-; so i can only get this cd if it's REALREALREALLY good. in the meantime, does anyone know any kickass b-movie creature features? (specifically ones with giant bugs but i'm flexable...) old ones are good. old colour is best... the new stuff with cgi i've probably already seen, but if i haven't heard of it or seen it i'll buy it. generally the horror channel shows every new b-movie as it comes out... x3;

bourne was painful for me. i LOVE bond... but sadly daniel craig... eh... the movies are entertaining, but not in the way bond should be. they are entertaining in the way of an old random action movie. not even stallone or arnie... not even quite a seagal level. craig's bond is just mindless action and violence. it's taken the whole scenario and made it into a serious situation. it's depressing... bond was MEANT to have humour. the original movie was peter sellers for christsakes (original casino royale. yup. it's the remake of the original.) now i know all the movies couldn't be like that... each bond had their own qualities. but saracen is right - craig's movies are just one big advert. all you see on the tv constantly is "THIS NEW PHONE, AS FEATURED IN BOND!" or computer or car or whatever. and when you watch the movie they are extra careful to show you the details of the object, what it can do and such as well as the brand and such... so for the moment the bond franchise is dead to me. i mean the ian flemming books were originally based on the WW2 spy, william stephenson, who pretty much started the cold war and won WW2 with the flood of amazing intel given. (i happen to be watching a documentory on him right now ironically enough xD) back on the main topic; i'm not racist in the slightest (besides for natural anger against immigrants who abuse the system and are crushing british tradition and customs...) but yah i really don't think bond should be black... if it was like say, Dr Who where you have a different physical person everytime the hero dies then yah that would rule - go with the flow. but he's meant to be the same person... it just doesn't really work :\ if they really are going to be a black bond i can't really think of any british black actors (or black actors who could pull of a british accent, or a monotone accent to hide an american one...) about the only english black people who come anywhere close were the two "brothers" on eastenders a while ago, and simon from blue (who i happen to know exists now thanks to i'm a celeb...) but somehow i just can't see a black bond. i mean let's be honest here, if there was a black man driving a fancy car the police would pull him over and ask him where he stole it from XD the bond personality is just too radical for a black man to pull off without looking like a retard or a quirky eccentric... the closest comparison we have to a black bond would be "shaft"... though i dunno what happened to the original guy and could you imagine samuel l jackson as bond? o.O; don't get me wrong it would be very cool... but that's not who bond is. it would just be shaft again. if you want a kickass cool black hero, just make another shaft movie o.o; i mean seriously, bond is the only kickass white british male "hero" character out there besides Dr Who. and he's an alien... and doesn't really make movies... nonono, bond is our little legend. we need to stick close to the books. also, having just thought about this for a second more we DO have another british hero. Sharpe. staring sean bean in a fictional (though often involved in historical events) situation, as the commanding officer of a british rifle squad in the napoleonic era (the whole way through, and as of a couple of years ago it's moved onto the indian campaign...) it's basically one long series (based on a series of books written by Bernard Cornwell) and each little adventure/book is a feature-length (tv movie?) or something. it is a very excellent series. you have action, battles, heroism, comradeship, romance and many other things... richard sharpe is very bondlike in many ways. however he is just a common man, risen up from the ranks. so he is lacking in the upper class traits... and the fact that he is a loyal partner. when he finds a girl, he marries her and stays with her (at least, until she dies or something. which happens surprisingly often. and no, he doesn't kill them XD) so far for total episodes there are the 14 napoleonic episodes (which you can get in one bigass box set with two per dvd case) and two other episodes from the indian campaign. there are more incoming in the future, as cornwell has written another half dozen books and is constantly writing more to the series. as it is 2 or 3 episodes have been missed out from the napoleonic campaign so later on he may go and make them too... (/rambling)

yah a definitive majority of people here also happen to be white males. one thing you have to take into account: it's not your choice. what power should you have over deciding who gets to have children and who doesn't? and what would make you any different from any dictator and/or mass murderer? it's no different to proposition 8. now i know all you good 'ol boys out there are gonna say that's good. but how would you like it if after many many centuries of work to get equal rights, all of a sudden a governmental decision suddenly took a large amount of those rights away from you? how would you like it if it were the other way round and hetrosexual marriage was banned but other marriage types were allowed? the government said it WASN'T a religious issue, but all the people who voted for it were mainly heavily christian types who were greatly against homosexuals. (and just as a reference point - there were gays in the bible, and they were not looked down upon. ontop of that, there is nothing saying it's bad. it has just been misinterpretted) the government has NO RIGHT to make or remove civil liberties. in a dictatorship, whatever. but in a modern "advanced" and "free" society, what right do they have to change civil liberties for the worse? how can america be "the land of the free" if almost all the states in the country BAN GAY MARRIAGE but allow hetrosexual marriage? it's not like they are asking for BETTER rights then everyone else. they want EQUAL rights. how does it affect you? it does NOTHING to you. all it would do would make some people who happen to have a different sexuality, very happy and able to say to the world "this person is truely mine, i love them, and i can prove it!" so don't even go down that route duke. don't even pull that crap >:\

yah that is true. i don't think half the planes that exist now were even considered then. i'll let that one slip. but yah, if it was a government conspiracy do you really think that either one or a small team of "plumbers" wouldn't be allowed through? i mean if they were terrorists or a foreign nations government it would be difficult... but if it was a US government conspiracy then they would be let straight through o.o; rather then head with the US government route (why cut a head off a hydra?), i'mma stick with terrorists/foreign power demo'ing the building just to make sure it goes down when the planes hit (don't argue yet. hear me out, i'm compromising between you all xD) would it be necessary to get any private areas? if i remember right underneith the WTC was car parks and a train station or something. maybe some basement rooms there. had someone wired in explosives of some kind there, or on the lobby floor... heck, maybe even halfway up the building on various floors, chances are it wouldn't be off-limits. most of the building is just standard offices. there were bathrooms and such on every floor to my knowledge so the plumbing route would be accepted. same with electrics and radiators. now your arguement would work if they were trying to place explosives in saaaay, the WTC's presidents room. or the VP's room. or the main meeting room or something... but would most of the building really require any kind of special access that couldn't be gained by showing the guard's at the reception some paperwork saying they need to fix something somewhere and receiving a little guest badge? o.o; heck you could have the same person appearing every day/week/month and after a while the guard's wouldn't even ask questions beyond "so what is broken now then?" because let's face it, if someone has the basic paperwork to do a maintanence job, as well as the equipment and uniforms with them to do so, how many guards are going to probe deeply into the background of that paperwork? you could get away with it now let alone then when security was more lax (but i'm pretty sure the security fixes were only on public transport and airlines after the incident...) i mean chances are if there was a demolitions situation happening for real, it would have a fair amount of backing by whoever wants it to happen. even terrorists have millions and billions of dollar's worth of currency. (considering now that 90% of cannibis imported into the US comes from terrorists in afghanistan...) so i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for them to get everything needed to make it happen o.o; i mean if they managed to train 20 - 30 terrorists how to take, control or fly planes, and managed to sneak them all into america and onto planes i'm sure they could train another half dozen and give them the required things to be able to plant demolitions in the WTC over time without being discovered xD no-one would have really thought much of it... they are big buildings. there are sure to be a lot of faults on a regular basis that need fixing... and this was before america started getting paranoid about anyone who looked foreign or acted "un-american" so no-one would have taken any notice. and in all honesty it would make sense covering that up - terrorists hijacking a plane is one thing. you just increase security checks. which benefits everyone anyway... but if it was discovered terrorists managed to just walk into a monument and set up explosives over many different times... they would have to change security on the whole country and such. aaaand that would be bad. it would be a lot of work, a lot of hastle. people wouldn't like it... not to mention the fact that all the illegal immigrants would probably end up getting kicked out of the country (good or bad depending on what way you look at it and who you are...) i mean really, could you imagine the amount of checks that would be required everytime someone came to fix a lightbulb? and you can bet people would get paranoid and want to see proper checks on people who came to fix their things at home too... once again, chances are none of this happened and it was just terrorists in planes. but i'm just speculating over what possibly might have happened to make more sense of a horrible tragedy...

...yah, the t-rex killed them all apparently. even though it was still pretty much locked up inside the cargo bay at the time o.O my theory is that either; 1) it got out, ate everyone and brought some meat back down into the cargo bay for the baby... and the torn off arm on the control button had some automatic flexing which shut the button (nerve twitching. it happens on corpses... however there was only like, an arm left on the button so i don't know if there would be enough of the muscles to press it. unless maybe one of the fingers or thumb twitched and triggered it) thus shutting the t-rex back in or 2) as they were launching the boat, raptors or something got on and killed everyone then got off as the boat was leaving automatically controlled by the computer. the faults in this theory is that whatever killed everyone would have to get off the boat which would have been at least a little way away from the island by the time everyone was dead... also raptors don't remove WHOLE bodies. they would just seperate limbs and leave a horribly torn up corpse on the floor... ...also the fact that raptors are really only a foot or two high and survived by eating eggs. they looked more like birds, covered in feathers and were not much bigger then the compys that killed the european mercenary xD but yah, this was pretty much overlooked to make way for an entertaining movie. though there was another dinosaur that was about the same size as the raptors in the movie... ( Deinonychus. also on the subject, look up gigantoraptor. i am not joking, it's a real dinosaur. found in 2005, it's basically an oviraptor which is a little smaller then a t-rex. the picture comparison size with a human made me laugh. then be happy that i wasn't around back then...) but y'know it's a hollywood movie. it wasn't designed with science and technical accuracy in mind xD

lawl saracen. dog one was cute... sweet, but made me feel bad at the same time .-.; aaand the black and white movie... that was either an old rifle hotshot couple showing the power of their weapons or the makers of bullet proof glass. the problem is they were both of that era and looked similar and i really can't be bothered to look it up to find out which pair it was xD and honestly, did the singer really think he would get people to stop filming? with a crowd of hundreds, probably thousands, can you honestly tell me that no-one is going to take photos or film? XD you just can't control that many people by yourself. also i feel the urge to point out that i'm not really a metallica fan again don't quite get DD's vid o.O it's probably really obvious or something but i missed it xD;

wow o.o nice to see people that actually have skills and ideals for later life rather then everyone being stuck in office work and wanting to stay there for the rest of their lives (and when i say "office work" i mean say, secretarial work or accounting or sales or whatever... normally game creation offices are a lot more entertaining o.O; ) and yup. black sheep was in the cinema for a couple of weeks. i KNEW completely it was gonna be like braindead but i dragged mom along because i didn't want to see it alone xD afterwards we were standing at the bus stop and she was like "...why did we watch that crap? why would anyone make that?" and i was just standing there giggling insanely. it's definately one of those guilty pleasure movies. like rocky horror but for gore and horror fans xD

i heard about that too. my first reaction to seeing the nickelback advert was "what wait? they AREN'T dead? hmm curious" XD this is generally my action a lot when i don't hear about a band for a few years... either that or "i thought they split up after -that- incident..." x3;

i mentioned all those teen drama show style stuff... yah sarah connor was fail ._. i had (sort) of high hopes for it. first of all. then i saw the cast photos and discovered there was a female terminator. and thus the fans wept XD i watched the first series but i kept falling asleep halfway through. at the time i wasn't staying up that late and it wasn't particularly facinating... so i only knew half of what was going on anyway. by the time i got around to watching the second series, i was staying up later so i could actually pay attention. however it just bored and irritated me so i stopped nearly straight away. seen a lot of good movies lately. many many. there was one interesting action movie i've seen recently. i think it was called "the big score" or something. had mark wahlberg in it... it was a nice blend of action, gun fights and comedy. also shoot 'em up. i LOVED that movie. it was amazing. had a couple of slightly low points but for the majority of the movie i was laughing so hard i cried xD definately one of the best comedies i've seen in a long time and it was an ACTION comedy at that so it is epic ^-^

hmm. sounds remotely interesting. but does it have an english language option when viewing stuff? though also i'm guessing like, half or more of the video titles will be in an asian language (not to mention "moon talk" XD) so yah... i can't read anything other then english so it wouldn't be much use to me :\ sounds like a good site though... though in all honesty i think i'll probably stick with youtube. generally the content i look at is either funny videos, songs i like and british adverts when i want to show other people funny things i've seen XD

well if we're at that stage already chances are it's more then possible. i mean if we've already managed to clone things after saying it couldn't be done... it's all just a matter of time and effort. okie, so the world will probably never be only females like i jokingly said, but i think it will be possible to have children produced from females only. i mean it's the next logical step... lesbian couples would be overjoyed at the prospect. likewise with gay couples if they heard similar news. though i fear trying to make a baby from two men would be FAR more complex, if even remotely possible. chances are there would have to be a synthetic egg (not to mention the whole baby being raised for 9 months in either a serrogate mother or some kind of laboratory condition...) but two females? that is definately possible. all you need is the gene to simulate the sperm joining with it, and supply the 23 genes from the other partner... then everything else is set. but it's definately in it's infancy of testing. give it 5, 10 or 20 years and it will be possible. give it 50 years and it will be a perfected art used by everyone commonly o.o;

you heavily underestimate people DD. don't you remember a certain whiteboy who got it into his head to blow up a government building? well if one normal person can do that, what's to say a professional couldn't? and once again i didn't say he did it in 3 hours. for all we know he could have been fixing up tiny things every day for years. and you really don't have to be an expert builder to pull down drywall. and if you're only making a little hole, all you have to do is plaster over it then paint it. even i could do that. and about the argument that people would see? if you get someone in some kind of engineering clothes, like someone to fix the plumbing or the electricity. most people wouldn't take a second look at someone like that fiddling with equipment... and like i've said before; they probably got ahold of the building schematics. a lot of building schematics you can get from a local library or something, it's really not that tricky. i'm sure it's a little more difficult to get the WTC plans but they're the government. they OWN the plans in the first place o.o; and once again DD, way to ignore what i said. don't just read the first line and ignore the rest of the paragraph. all architects -HEAVILY- overbuild when they make a project. i'm not saying the actual building will end up overbuilt, since often in the process of building and funds everything we get crappier and cheaper along the way what with people using worse materials to save on money. but the actual ARCHITECT who designed the thing will always heavily overbuild...

like i've said before, the red alert games are just one big boy's fantasy xD but yah let's be honest, in modern(ish) war sims women rarely have a role beyond comm systems and such. i'm sure somewhere along the line we'll end up with female generals and such (starship troopers anyone? XD) but let's not get our hopes up...
