yup. the noodle thing was real. there have been countless (listed) examples of people putting things on the disc drive when it's opened xD but i mean honestly though. how could people think that? o.O; considering the fact that you are surrounded by countless flat surfaces at the computer... and the fact that it SAYS "cd drive" or "DVD drive" or whatever on the front xD (though the cookie dispenser guy urban legend thing was proven real... XD) it really hurts my brain @.@ i know so many people like that. and a lot like homer with the whole making an internet company using nothing but a phone and a typewriter XD

meh, slash AND buckethead are both excellent guitarists. yes, GnR would never have the sound it does if it didn't have axl. but that is kinda obvious given it's far harder to immitate a voice then a guitar... but you also have to take into account that GnR has gone through so many different people BECAUSE AXL FIRED THEM ALL XD he argues and winds up -everyone- he meets (kind of like bly), and thus people leave or get kicked out. so i really have mixed feelings about the band. i love their music, and i have a major crush on axl. but he really doesn't deserve the fame for being such a douche :\ whereas slash and buckethead try their best to get along with people, are quite flexable and also produce great music with their instruments o.o (not that the other GnR members don't mind you x3)

once again, not necessarily alpha. who says it needs to be cloned? it might need to be cloned first of all... but once the technology becomes available they will be able to make them from scratch in a lab. and yes bly, people won't like it. but a lot of people don't like a lot of things. let's look at something obvious like homosexuality - that had been a taboo in most western cultures for a long time until about half a century ago. however even now people are so heavily against it, and it doesn't even affect them directly. go figure. in some cultures it was not only accepted, but a part of everyday life - the spartans for example. they would pair a young male with an older, experienced male. the younger would learn and be taught by the older one, also being his lover (by choice or by force. there is a lot more info on that and i could rant on about it, but you could also just look it up if you don't already know...) but y'know, once it becomes more commonplace synthetic birthing will become a common option. as it is we have artificial insemination, adoption, abortion and other things. in any socially advanced culture they are commonplace... so why not synthetic birthing later on in time?

once again, the whole time i have been refering to my situation. getting a car is just not practical. what i said about the other members was that "half of the other forum people have cars that probably don't even meet the current basic safety specs" >-> does that mean take a cab to work? no. it means update your car, either getting a new one or fixing it up >->

maybe not but it would certainly be possible to (at one stage) clone or synthetically produce the required genes to make a Y chromosome (it's only got 78 in it compared to an x's 2000...) so yah technically it should be possible to synthetically make it in the future - either from scratch or from cloning and customizing... it's just not gonna be within our capabilities for a while. at the rate of gene discovery it could be about 100 years or more before we get the required knowledge. however at the rate of technological advance (the average computer capability more then doubling every 3 - 5 years) it could be as little as 50 or even 20 if we get more computers and more scientists working on it. my view on it is why say it is impossible? nothing is impossible - only not currently possible because of technological limitation. i mean could you imagine describing say, plastic, kevlar, television or a computer to someone from the medieval era? or the british civil war era? heck, even someone from the american civil war or even so late as the victorian era would have difficulty comprehending such things...

my theory is either the people he was talking to were a small group of say, college students who won't cause any trouble beyond "don't tase me bro!" or a flying wang-copter (though the latter was technically businessmen there, methinks it still counts as political hijinks) and figured that it was fine to let him chat without protection. maybe he was trying to more approachable? maybe he told his security to back off? or maybe his security just don't like him as much. heck, maybe because he's getting kicked out of office they've let security go lax. who knows. ...all i DO know is that bush is ACTUALLY the "ask a ninja" guy in disguise XD an i guess you'll have to wait until DD gets on to have him answer. my theory is cos it's a kickass browser. maybe he's making an add-on or mod for it? or he's been hired by the firefox team? XD

... what do you know >.< dawn of war 2 is gonna be awesome (now watch it fail badly XD) but yah. from what i've heard and seen, it has tyranids and more of (if not all) the previous species, as well as a unique mission system. i personally can't wait. 'guard vs 'nids in an easy to use RTS enviroment... i've been DYING to do it. the tyranid mod for DoW/WA/DC was good, but they are just too slow making things. by the time they finish the mod the actual game will be out xD i'm also waiting for halo wars, the other halo game where you play a normal marine (i'm not a big fan of halo but that's because i LIKE playing a weak, vulnerable character which requires much more skill as opposed to a super soldier with advanced tech...) aaaaand i'm waiting for the Aliens: colonial marines game... there are a few other games i'm waiting for but none come to mind off the bat. i've already got a large percentage of the games i've been waiting for... i love how there was nothing really good for about half a decade then suddenly LOADS of good games come out in a row (admitedly there were a couple of good games in the past few years but not many... over the past couple of months there have been maybe 6 - 20 KICKASS games out xD) i know there were rumours of an Aliens RPG, which would be playable online (don't know if it would be a full-on MMORPG - i heard it was more small scale like a 4 - 8 player co-op or something) but when i heard the rumours it sounded impressive. and i would kill for another Aliens RTS. the AvP: extinction for the consoles was GREAT but it was limited... you only had the campaigns - no skirmish, and they never (to my knowledge...) ported it to the pc, which was a great disappointment. apart from all the maps that could have been made i would have loved to see some mods for it, editting things like the max unit allowance and so on... but yah i basically just want an RTS where you have some kind of human soldiers against masses of aliens or zombies. the alien type is negotiable ('nids, Aliens or starship trooper bugs work too! :3) but c'mon admit it, a proper game with any of those in would ROCK. it's a big gap in the market, especially zombie ones.

yaaaah. you have to take into account the number of casualties to the number of people actually involved. do you -really- think that EVERYONE in the war was constantly under attack like in the games? XD the average soldier would have experienced maybe one or two battles tops... front line soldiers leading the way would have experienced more... but even so, the soldiers aren't in constant near-death situations all the time. in the games you are almost constantly in situations where you are near-singlehandedly fighting off 10+ enemy soldiers at a time... pretty much the soldiers in situations such as stalingrad that survived from day 1 til the end of the war in constant battle scenarios were either not at the front (such as staff, high ranking officers) or very rarely, EXTREMELY lucky soldiers. you have to take into account that a "heavy military defeat" ISN'T what we say it is in games. a heavy military defeat in the real world means that out of your whole army up to 7 out of 10 men are dead and the rest have had to retreat or be captured. there have been very, VERY few examples of a TOTAL victory/defeat in modern history. an example of a defeat would be losing 3 out of 10 men average and having to retreat... for example, the charge of the light brigade (british against the russians, battle of balaclava, 1854 in the crimean war) "with 118 men killed, 127 wounded. After regrouping, only 195 men were still with horses." - a short quote of the british casualties. it was remembered as a massacre and a heavy defeat, admitedly the brigade had more then half it's men wounded, dead or captured, the action was actually a victory though be it a violent one. cavalry against cannon had NEVER been tried before - until then. if you have watched the movies (such as the most famous one with errol flynn in '36) you'll notice that the charge goes on forever with mass death everywhere. not true. the cavalry spent most of the distance just going along at a slow trot - then charging when they got in range of the cannons. the cannon fire lasted less then 30 seconds, and a large amount of the casualties were taken when the russian cavalry engaged them. anyway my point is that no single soldier could POSSIBLY be THAT lucky to survive THAT much constant, heavy battle. in the games, they cut out the rest of the time such as the waiting or guard duty... and they cut out the combat where nothing happens, and when there is combat they make sure your character is constantly at the front of it... generally the average frontline soldier would have 5 or 10 minutes of intense combat then some rest, or at least a breather until the enemy regrouped. whereas in games your character constantly engages in combat at the front for a whole level's worth at a time... and WW1 is a really bad example xD they spent 90% of the time just sitting about in trenches or underground rooms being bored and going insane... the other 10% either on leave or going over the top and being shot, taking ground or killing some people and retreating back XD

actually my computer -is- technically fine at the moment. but i'm at the stage where it's literally JUST within the limits... GTA IV is equal to maybe two different things on the specs. may run may not... so i know sooner or later the games are gonna reach the stage where i'm outdated. so i figure i should start upgrading now rather then wait a year and discover i'm stuck... >.>;

meeeeh i'll still stick with pc's. i lieks my upgrades i do. the only time i have considered getting a mac was when my computer graphic's teachers at college were selling all their current ones as they got the new versions in (basically upgrading from those complete macs in a box monitor to the flat screen and seperate case version methinks) and they were selling the monitor-macs to all the people on the courses for knocked off prices with all the graphic software included ^^; problem is at the last minute they had delays so they had to keep using the macs for a while... by the time they got around to selling them they blew off all the original buyers (like me and my class >.>) for the next class ; eh go figure.

XP anyway... yaaah... i don't think the kid was on drugs, chances are the second he was arrested they would have either seen visible signs or tested him anyway to be sure... i really feel for the parents here. they were only doing what they thought was right, and at the end of the day the father still loves him. i don't think they made any errors in raising him, as they obviously cared enough about subjecting him to violence. maybe the boy has some kind of psychological issue (well, that much is obvious. though when i say that i mean something serious such as being psychotic. i'd say not having any -true- emotion and being able to kill your closest family members as easily as you open a can of soda would be a serious issue...) then again it could be something as simple as stress. people always get angry at their families when they are stressed. i know a lot of people who would probably have done the same if they had access to a weapon whilst they were angry... what worries me is the fact he knew how to use the weapon, and went through with it. you could blame that on pretty much anything. i choose to say enviromental situations (generally social attitudes and media influences - if you regually see violence you're more likely to become immune to it...) i don't think you should ban games or violent tv shows or whatever... and as much as i hate to say it, i don't think that weapons should be banned in america either (simply for the fact that if anyone tried to ban them it would turn into a civil war that could last centuries o.O; ) but what -should- be done is making things like the results of violence known. anything from a little flyer in the game case to an advert as the game is starting up (even if it only plays on the first load) it would work wonders. like those domestic violence adverts or animal cruelty adverts... heck, even the piracy adverts x3; all i know is the adverts that make the most impact are ones that show it bluntly, both the actions and results. over here in the uk there has been campaigns showing the effects of drinking too much, getting in unlicensed taxis and knife crime (the first showing a person getting ready for a night out and in the process utterly destroying themselves in the way they would end up, such as tearing clothes throwing up on themselves, giving themselves black eyes etc etc...) the second showed a group of girls calling a taxi. one girl goes to get in it then backs away, the other girls hold her and push her towards the driver. the driver then proceeds to have his way with her. the final campaign basically just had people involved (victims, attackers, family etc) in knife crime talking about their experiences and showing the wounds of the victims. all of these campaigns (and many others such as animal cruelty) hit VERY hard and have had the desired effects to some extent...

actually i have posted shorter ones before... xD and i'm not gonna retort to that luk3us, i know you are just trying to taunt me into ranting :3

i wasn't talking so much about the camera systems... but more the bigass doors. they have those little spyglass things to see through them (or they did have until recently. NOW they have cameras on some airlines...) aaaand it's just as easy to kill someone with a spork as hands and feet. possibly easier... if you are just an average joe off the street, there are many weak spots on a human which a spork could do damage to... o-o; mainly the eyes and neck... assuming you had average or high training, you could probably do lethal damage with both spork and hand...
