Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather just get it up and sorted myself so people can't criticise me for things you've suggested etc etc. I'm also doubting whether or not Madbadger actually has Zero Hour, or the sound on if he does have it. He'd recognise most things. Hey, check out our new TOW missiles.

When I look at what they replaced the detention center with, it really seems kinda logical in most respects. Taking prinsoners ws never really going to be a valid thing and the way in which the USA only have a single base defense that did everything (*cough* YR Gattling Cannon *cough*) really sucked. Without the fireb ase, the USA just had one more vulnerable building to blow up. Though to annoy critics, leaving it in with some sort of extra abilities would have been a great laugh.

They shouldnt hav removed, its not the USA without something attrocious in it!

I was quite done, and I agree on Zero Hour. Though an expansion was due, by cashing in on Iraw, they did indeed sell out. It makes me sad and I'll agree with you leang, and leave it at that. Friends? 8)

AK-47s for everybody is a reference to the Angry Mobs that the GLA impliment. I think I'll take it upon myself to write something strategic soon too. I'm still perfecting my 'Generals and their weapons' article. Too many things on at the moment though. As far as the GLA go, aswell as possibly being interpreted for the Gay and Lesbian Army, they are my favourite faction for general havoc.

C&c Generals release date was put back a few months because their release date happened to be near the 9/11 attacks. Imagine how distasteful it would have been to release a game surrounding terror attacks following 9/11...hence, the game was ready before Iraq and you've grossly misjudged EAs intent. Generals was an original concept in many ways, it was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Get a beliginent arguement before you release your opinion.

Being from England, I'd have £1,000,000 to play with, and I know what I'd do with it. If anyone remembers the old 'Ducktails' cartoon, you'll know that Scrooge McDuck had a vault of money to swim in. I would chaneg the million into ten pence pieces and swim in it think.... ...Failing that, I'd probably buy a nice boat.

When Idiots Are Allowed on The Internet...
Mr_Lee_ replied to Doctor Destiny's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I can sum this whole thing up in a theory me and my friend created after someone we know tried to make themselves out to be 9 feet tall and plated in bronze. Its called The Meadows Theorm. When infront of a computer screen, any nerd, geek or other creature of the Os become a hulking colossus of a man that slays dragons with his nipples and condemns world with burps. In relaity they are 5'6" tall and have the physical built of an orc or a goblin. This seems to be the case once again. -
Different concept entirely, thats just an amalgamation of the sides to create the most balanced force possible. This will create a more tactically diverse side that makes for more fluid gameplay, which it did.

I give it about 2 posts before madbadger spams this I say this is relative to your vehicles role. Defensive things need repair drones, attacking things need hellfire and the occasional spydrone is always good.

My understanding of Boss General was a General who was the actual commander in chief. The Tigress being the top dog of China, Ironside being the leader of the Us forces and Jackal being the secret guy at the top of the GLA, thuis Boss being used in its job terms.
-
Well done, Red Guard are basic Chinese. As far as this goes, I like Prince Kassad. Its a nice refreshing challenge for someone whos bored of wiping out everyone who stands before him. Try and control a map when you're not got Tanks as the GLA. Leang is a sellout, Ironside was better, and Jackal fior me summed up the GLA, but they never included Ironside or Jackal, thus reinforcing that Leang is a sell out.
-
Fan Club? NO! The ultimate general to which you are referring is probably the Tigress, Leang. Though you could possibly be talking about General Ironside or maybe even *shock* Jackal *stop shock*

If it involves the entirety of Eurasia, you're screwed, simple as. As far as I can see, everyone seems to be favouring the Nuclear chinese General, and I have something to say to those people. Shame on you. You'll see theres one GLA Stealth General. Only one, and thats me. I play as China online, the Infantry General that is, but my prefered side is the Stealth General, and when I see so many people playing as Nuclear China, I feel disheartened that you're all so cheap. You're playing Vanilla China with advantages and that makes you weaker and defeats the entire point behind having the Generals. You're nothing more than winning whores, I hope you're proud of yourself. If you look at the game, there should have been a napalm side, that would most likely have replaced the Chinese Nuclear side. This would have been a much more interesting side to play as than the Nuclear commander. Imagine having a Chinese double barreled dragon tank? That would have worked and it would have been very very cool to use. While on a ramble, I wish to complain about the SW commander and how, although turtling is an effective tactic, her base was so damned hard to get into that I found myself swearing loudly. I say Ironside would have been better than she was, and much more tactical too. Imagine trying to be a consistent attacking USA force? Its bloody difficult I tell you that. While on that note, does anyone know what the 3 boss general actually specialise in - I know they were Leang, Jackal and Ironside, but no, we got Alexander and Tao while Leang is made boss general...anyway, what did they specialise in?

Hey people, I'm new, though I'm a forum veteran, been keeping an eye on the C&XC modding community for nearly 2 years but never really gone onto a forum until now. I've been playing C&C since the original came out and I only had a PS1 to play it on. since then I've managed to aquire every C&C game for the PC but am an experienced Counter Strike: Source and Warhammer Dawn of War player. I also like Halo (1 +2) and enjoy watching things like 'Red versus Blue'

New mod <LIGHT OF FIVE STARS>
Mr_Lee_ replied to vicky's topic in Generals / Zero Hour Maps & Modding
I'd like to have a closer look at this mod aswell. Do you have a download link at all vicky? -
325 - when your grandparents talk about school in the good old days and how they had the Cane, you ask them was he a good leader.
-
Another sign you've played to much C&C is that when you try and spell 'Command and Conquer' in your alphabet soup.

Its dark outside...clear though...quite mild...bloody Wirral

Cold War, Iran and North Korea spring to mind Madbadger Nuclear Weapons are a deterrent now, pure and simple. The Russians and the Yanks needed something to stop WW3 and Nukes was the logical thing.

Before I begin...I'd like to take a moment to say woo my first topic on here....now thats out my system I'll begin my rant. I played through Generals and Zero Hour like everyone else and I played through the skirmish maps like everyone else and I felt like I'd been cheated of something in the skirmishes that wasn't in the missions. playing through mods, I played Blitzkrieg 2 and I realised what it was that was missing - a good city fight map/set of maps. there was a mission playing as China against the GLA where you had to fight them building to building using carpet bombing, artillery and dragon tanks BUT you had to be careful to not go too quickly or the demo traps would get you - I enjoyed that mission a lot because of how tactical and precise you had to be when moving through the city eliminating the GLA while trying to avoid those terrorists or the angry mod waiting for you around the corner, because in street combat - you're foo-bared if they catch you. Anyway, rant over I was wondering if anyone else felt the same about this and if there are any good maps with AI that can actually street fight smartly - I want to have a good urban brawl. NB - this could be considered a challenge aswell, to anyone who wants an online skirmish battle on a dense urban map.
