New C&C Mentioned As EA Confirms Visceral Expansion Plans
General Kane Nash replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
More like a Third Personal Shooter, if it's going to be made by Visceral then this is going to kick ass and chew bubblegum, they were the guys who made Dead Space, which is one of my favourite all time games, up to the point I ahve made wallpapers and a videoclip of it. -
The Forgotten v1.0 Available Now
General Kane Nash replied to dbjs2009's topic in Command & Conquer News
This is not a TS revival mod, while we found good to add some units seen in that game we also wanted to bring units from our own. -
Return of Classic Tiberium in The Forgotten
General Kane Nash replied to dbjs2009's topic in Command & Conquer News
They were just trying to emulate SC crystals, of course this backfired really bad, so the best they could do was to reduce the size of the crystals, but, remember the guys only had 11 months to make a game from scratch, so you may not expect some details to be corrected. -

General Kane Nash replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
We miss you Frank, you should have made the C&C4 OST, that game needed so much your techno/metal/electronic/rock/experimental music And Eric Gooch, heck, if we couldnt have a nice campaign at least we could have had nice music a visual design! -

Oh man, did anyone save the proposed changes for KW patch 1.03? Perhaps someone can mod it, and also add more color options, and correct the Behemot leg animation, that would be so sweet -

CNC World Interview: C&C 2142 Mod for C&C 3
General Kane Nash replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Yes, I mean, when making the textures of the forgotten units I just had one file per model and put everything there, that took me at best 5 hours of work, and the TGA file was only 512px large, I think the guys of that mod team should investigate a bit more about unwrapping a 3D models, that will save them a lot of work. Also, they should be careful with the size of their models, otherwise they will make the game lag due too much data per model. -
Interview with EA Goodman's Community Team
General Kane Nash replied to dbjs2009's topic in Command & Conquer News
I am sure the only reason why there are still some guys from the C&C devp team at EA is because as managers they have some laboral advantages which saved them from being fired inmediately after the release of C&C4, think about it, and put yourselves in EA's executives minds, "So this franchise is not making cash? Well fine, we will keep part of the team working in some anniversary game pack, then, once sales drop below the critical line we will fire them too, by that time they will no longer be covered by their laboral benefits so we will not have any kind of legal issues with them". Besides, I am sure all that people of the community team are not getting paid any extra money for having to work with the C&C brand, they will probably be happy the faster EA decided to definitly bury C&C (let's be honest, who would want to work with a franchise in such state, just look how awful are teh official forums right now), they will have their extra free time back, and also will get sure the next time they made a contract they will forbide any clausule which could force them into a similar situation. -

Interview with EA Goodman's Community Team
General Kane Nash replied to dbjs2009's topic in Command & Conquer News
Talking about things, the official forums are more messy than usual, which is to say something, not that I really expected too much from them but at least in the old times EA had a decent control over what happened there and had no problems removing people who infringed the TOS, I mean, seriously, getting insulted, not just critizised, but insulted, seeing people smurfing and other stuff like that running rampant, makes me thing EA is allowing this in order to further kill the C&C franchise, after all, it's a marketing tactic to kill a franchise by degrading it if it can be a problem for other products of the same company, and with games like Battleforge having more potential to generate money we may expect EA burying C&C in the most deep abyssal pit of their corporative archives. Anyway, not the first time a RTS brand died, Empire Earth, Act of War, Age of Empires, they are all dead now, and none of them will go back, Petroglyph attempts to make RTS games have failed to create a new legend, it seems they even failed to be a decent economic success, the only RTS series which is strong, economically profitable, well supported and shinning is Starcraft, small consolation when compared with all the dead series. But seriously, you know there is something going terribly wrong when you see a company allowing people to say they shouldnt buy their games to newcomers in their own forums, there is a line between criticism and hatred and the lack of interest speaks volumes of what is going on on that place. -
C&C 4 Still Holding Strong in the Sales Charts
General Kane Nash replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Well, if this is true then at least EA Danger Close will have enough money to keep rebuilding the C&C team. But we definitly need numbers, I cant believe Chaos Rising, for example, it's not in the list. -
Well, that's basically the question, I never bought Red Alert 3 and went directly to play Uprising (thanks CNCNZ.com for the event ) So, now I have checked it in at the EA Store and is not even at 10 euros in my region, so far I have heard a lot of balance rants at the official forums, but, well, they are always ranting there, so I prefered to go here since I suppose people here has a more impartial jugdement. My other option in mind was Act of War: High Treason, http://store.steampowered.com/app/9760/ I already played Direct Action and it was awesome except for the fact I had to live up with the game translation which I strongly dislike sinxe I am all for english when is about games. So, what do you think? Red Alert 3 or Act of War: High Treason?

Blizzard Announces RealID System
General Kane Nash replied to Mighty BOB!'s topic in Gaming Discussion
The simple fact I am taking a controversial position on this matter shows I say something relevant, and why should you mention pacifists as if they were not capable of defend their points of view? Back on the 20th century we saw Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi fighting without armies and being capable to change the world, these were men of conviction who held their ideals even on the face of a warranted death. -
Blizzard Announces RealID System
General Kane Nash replied to Mighty BOB!'s topic in Gaming Discussion
Well that will not worry me really much bcs I am always very careful with what I say online, just as if I was talking in real life, I dont insult people and if I say something which will offend someone else it's bcs I am completly sure justice and the motivation to defend my cause is at my side, instead this would have forced some other people to be more careful about what they say, I take responsability of what I say, that's an important rule if you want to last a decent amount of time on this world. -
Blizzard Announces RealID System
General Kane Nash replied to Mighty BOB!'s topic in Gaming Discussion
I suspect a lot of people outhere is actually afraid of this because now every time they tray to troll there will be a chance someone will go look after them in real life, well, that's why you have to check what you say offline and be completly sure about taking responsability of what you say, now let's see if this can also apply to online life. -
Blizzard Announces RealID System
General Kane Nash replied to Mighty BOB!'s topic in Gaming Discussion
So if I understand well Blizzard now has a way to show people's real identity outside the world? Those are really great news, I like it, now we will know trolls' real identities and challenge them to say all their crap face to face, no more cowards hiding behind internet without having to deal with the consequences of their foul mouths. Now we will see who is brave enough to say bad stuff knowing they can meet the people who offended on the street. -
Should I buy Red Alert 3
General Kane Nash replied to General Kane Nash's topic in Red Alert 3 / Uprising
Really? Well I just played the campaign in a friend of a friend's PC and I found it somehow awful, unremarkable and with nothing really memorable, except perhaps for the Shogun Executioner, and it was one of the fugliest designs I have ever seen in videogames (which is to say something). Right now I have finished the DoW 2 campaign and I simply found it awesome, everything on DoW2 is awesome, just the design and the VFX and the master work they did with every single model, and you got 5 very unique squads and a dreadnought, you have so many options and stuff to collect and powers to unlock and missions to play and awesome dialogue (Cyrus and Avitus demand special mention with the amount of badassery they brings in every words) and awesome characters and challenging gameplay that C&C has started to feel like a really weak series to me. I am not sure if the multiplayer is going to be similar bcs I only tried the RA3 beta and campaign and still havent go into DoW2 multiplayer. But right now I will be bussy with Chaos Rising campaign and leveling up my heros in last stand, and I am starting to suspect I will not buy RA3 since there is nothing like quotes like: "Come on alien, show me your fury!" "Do not waste what the Emperor provides" "One down. Millions to go. "Victory is but a prelude to the next battle" And probably one of the most epic dialogues ever: Thaddeus: "We have nowhere to fall back to." Avitus: "Come, Thaddeus. Did you imagine any of us would return from this mission?" Thaddeus: "No. I suppose I did not. But I cannot imagine a better end than this" IG sarge: "Then I guess we had better take as many of the damn bugs with us as we can." Avitus: "Well said, Sergeant." Tarkus: "Well said indeed, Avitus. Brothers, make yourselves ready." Cyrus: "And may we find ourselves again at the right side of the Emperor." -
Should I buy Red Alert 3
General Kane Nash replied to General Kane Nash's topic in Red Alert 3 / Uprising
Hmm, I am delaying it becasue I have found Dawn of War 2 Gold Edition Pack which includes both the original game and Chaos Rising, I have heard wonders of Chaos Rising, SupCom2 had a -66% offer, but since SupCom1 didnt work correclty in my PC (no audio) and Forged Alliance installation didnt work I decided not to take the risk, I also bought Tropico 3 and Absolute Power, funny thing, the caribbean water reminds me of RA3, but it's rather far more realistic since Kalypso studios didnt overabuse of the shaders. I had Hight Treason installed and it's working decently well, although I had problems with the steam account so I had to switch the folders in order to make it work, weird thing. I DO NOT FEAR SECUROM. For what you read before you may have already suspected I am not the guy who simply let his stuff get beaten by technical issues, I will not enter in detail about how far I usually go to take care of such silly problems, and honestly I have never feel compeled to not to buy a game jsut because they add some stupid requirement (unless is always online, but then I installed an off-line mode for C&C4 ust in case). t He, for some reasons and despic HT is like 4 years older than RA3 it looks awesomely more realistic, units are well proportioned, enviroment looks like you are really watching real world and VFX are very well done, I am just getting in a mission at sea, water looks good. -
Should I buy Red Alert 3
General Kane Nash replied to General Kane Nash's topic in Red Alert 3 / Uprising
It seems this is my day, just now Steam has announced a 66% discount for High Treason, which means it now only costs 7 dollars, so I will buy it OH HECK! ENGLISH PATCH FOR TOUHOU 12.3!! WIN! TROPICO 3 -66% discount It seems this is a nice day for me! -
